Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog (HPRCA), Hamirpur has released Advertisement No. 09/2026 dated 16 April 2026 for the scheme-based engagement of 894 Teachers in CBSE-affiliated Government Schools under the Department of School Education, Government of Himachal Pradesh. Marks Relaxation: Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories of Himachal Pradesh get a 5% relaxation in minimum educational qualifications.

Domicile Condition: You must have passed Matriculation (10th) and 10+2 from any school/institution situated within Himachal Pradesh. This condition does not apply to Bonafide Himachalis. Candidates from reserved categories of other states will be treated as General (UR) category.

Age Limit

  • You should be between 18 and 45 years of age as on 01 January 2026.
  • Age relaxation is available for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as per HP Government rules.
  • Candidates from reserved categories of states other than Himachal Pradesh will be treated as General (UR) category — no age or fee relaxation applies to them.

Honorarium / Salary

  • Selected candidates will receive a fixed honorarium of Rs. 30,000 per month.
  • The honorarium is payable for 10 months per academic year — not for the full 12 months.
  • This is a scheme-based engagement — standard government allowances such as DA and HRA do not apply under this scheme.
  • The engagement is for a period of 5 years on a purely scheme-based basis with no right of regularization against any vacancies in the Education Department.

Selection Process

Selection is done through a Computer Based Test (CBT) or Written Screening Test in two stages:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT) / Written Screening Test: 120 objective-type questions for 120 marks in 1.5 hours (90 minutes). Each question carries 1 mark. Syllabus covers: (a) Subject-specific content up to PG level, (b) General Knowledge including HP GK and Current Affairs, (c) Everyday Science, Logical Reasoning, Social Science, General English, and General Hindi at Matric standard. Minimum qualifying marks: 45% for General category and 40% for SC/ST/OBC/Wards of Freedom Fighters.
  2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates based on merit will be called to verify original certificates. The downloaded/printed copy of the online application form with self-attested photocopies of all certificates must be produced at this stage.

Note: If CBT is held in multiple shifts, scores will be normalised using the Z-Score Method (Mean and Standard Deviation Method) for merit list preparation. HPRCA may issue a detailed subject-wise syllabus on its official website in due course.

  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and question papers for students at the secondary and senior secondary level
  • Evaluate student assignments, practicals, and examinations and maintain proper assessment records
  • Guide students in academic matters and prepare them for CBSE board examinations
  • Maintain attendance registers, mark sheets, and other required academic documentation
  • Participate in school activities, parent-teacher meetings, and departmental reviews as directed by the school head
