About This Job

J&K Bank is hiring 614 Apprentices under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) for the year 2026-27. If you have a graduation degree passed on or after 01.01.2022, you can apply online. The last date to apply is 26 April 2026. Age limit is 20 to 28 years as on 01.01.2026. Monthly stipend is Rs. 13,500 (Rs. 9,000 Bank's share + Rs. 4,500 Govt. share).

Jammu and Kashmir Bank Limited (J&K Bank) has released a notification for engagement of 614 Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 through the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) for 2026-27. Selected candidates will be placed in branches and offices of the Bank in their respective districts. The training period is 12 months, after which candidates are relieved from service. This is a one-time training opportunity — completion earns you a Certificate of Proficiency (COP) from the Regional Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT), which gives age relaxation and bonus weightage in future J&K Bank Banking Associate recruitment.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: Graduation from a recognised university or institute. You must have passed your graduation on or after 01.01.2022. Only graduates are eligible under NATS.
  • Local Language: You should be proficient in the local/official language of the region where you are applying, and should have studied it as a subject in 10th or 12th standard.
  • Prior Apprenticeship: You must NOT have undergone any previous apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 in any organisation including J&K Bank.
  • Work Experience: Candidates who have undergone any training or have job experience of one year or more after graduation are NOT eligible.
  • District Preference: You can apply for only one district/area. If you register for more than one, only your latest application will be considered.

Age Limit

  • Minimum age: 20 years
  • Maximum age: 28 years (as on 01.01.2026)
  • Age Relaxation: For SC/ST/OBC/PwBD categories as per Government of India guidelines.
  • Note: DBT amount of Rs. 4,500 from Govt. is paid only for candidates below 35 years on the date of contract issuance through the Apprenticeship Portal (if shortlisted).

Stipend

  • Monthly stipend: Rs. 13,500 per month
  • Bank's share: Rs. 9,000 per month (disbursed directly by J&K Bank)
  • Government's share: Rs. 4,500 per month (via DBT — eligible if you are below 35 years at contract issuance)
  • Conveyance: Up to Rs. 1,250 per month
  • Apprentices are not eligible for any other allowances or benefits. The Bank will not disburse more than Rs. 9,000 per month.

Application Fee

  • General / Unreserved category: Rs. 700
  • Reserved category (SC / ST / OBC / EWS / PwBD): Rs. 500
  • Payment mode: Online only (Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards, Mobile Wallets)
  • Fee is non-refundable. Bank transaction charges will be borne by the candidate.

Selection Process

Selection is based on an Online Written Test:

  1. Online Written Exam (Objective Type): 100 questions for 100 marks in 60 minutes (1 hour). Exam will be in English language only.
    • General Awareness & English Comprehension: 50 questions — 50 marks — 30 minutes
    • Quantitative Aptitude & Reasoning Ability: 50 questions — 50 marks — 30 minutes
  2. Negative Marking: 1/4th (0.25) marks deducted for each wrong answer. No penalty for unattempted questions.
  3. Merit List: Drawn district/region and category-wise based on aggregate marks. Ties broken by age in descending order.
  4. Document Verification
  5. Medical Fitness Check

Benefit for J&K/Ladakh Domicile candidates who complete apprenticeship: 1-year age relaxation + 2.5 bonus marks (out of 100) in future J&K Bank Banking Associate recruitment.

How to Apply

  1. First, register on the NATS Apprenticeship Portal at nats.education.gov.in. Complete 100% of your profile and note down your enrolment number.
  2. Make sure your mobile, Aadhaar, and bank account are inter-linked and DBT is enabled in your bank account.
  3. Go to jkb.bank.in, click on the Careers tab, and open the link "Engagement of Apprentices".
  4. Register using your name, contact details, and email. Note down the Provisional Registration Number and Password.
  5. Fill in the online application form carefully. Upload your scanned photograph (4.5cm × 3.5cm), signature, left thumb impression, and hand-written declaration.
  6. Preview and verify all details before clicking 'Complete Registration'.
  7. Pay the application fee online (Rs. 700 for General / Rs. 500 for Reserved).
  8. Submit and take a printout of the e-Receipt and application form for your records.

Responsibilities

  • Handle day-to-day banking operations at the assigned branch under supervision
  • Assist customers with account-related queries and basic banking services
  • Maintain and update banking records, registers, and reports as directed
  • Process documents related to deposits, withdrawals, and other transactions
  • Follow all bank guidelines, compliance rules, and data security procedures
  • Support senior staff in administrative and clerical duties during training
  • Report to the reporting officer and adhere to working hours of 10 AM to 5 PM
