The Chandigarh State Cooperative Bank Limited (CSCB) is engaging a Cooperative Intern in Chandigarh to support the cooperative movement at the grassroots. The programme gives management professionals practical exposure to how cooperative banks and primary cooperatives work. Its focus is on helping branches put Ministry of Cooperation initiatives into practice and building a wider pool of professionals with cooperative-sector experience.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nature of the programme: This is a learning and practical-work internship with the bank. It does not give you employee status or a right to a later appointment with CSCB or institutions connected with it.
• Tenure: The internship runs for one year. You should consider it a defined period of engagement when planning your commitments, because the notice gives no assurance of a job after completion.
• Working hours: You will follow the bank's working hours throughout this full-time programme. Your attendance and conduct must follow CSCB's rules, including getting permission before being absent from work.
• Leave: The programme allows 10 days of casual leave for the year. Other leave is unpaid, while holidays follow the arrangements applicable to the bank where you work.
• Performance and discontinuation: The bank can end the internship if your work is unsatisfactory or you stay away without permission. It also keeps the right to end the engagement at any time without giving a reason.
• Confidentiality: Keep bank records, reports and information received during the internship private. This includes business plans and policies that are not public. A breach of confidentiality can have legal consequences.
• Media and social media: You cannot speak to the media on behalf of the bank. You also need express permission from the competent authority before posting about your work on social media.
• Professional conduct: Deal professionally with bank staff and the public, and follow the bank's rules throughout your engagement. The confidentiality conditions apply to sharing information with individuals as well as organisations.
• Accuracy of information: False statements or discrepancies in your application can lead to cancellation of your candidature or termination of the internship, including when the bank discovers the issue later.
• Recruitment discretion: CSCB may cancel or withdraw the advertisement without giving a reason. The notice therefore does not guarantee that submitting an application will lead to an internship offer.

Use the Annexure-1 application format included in the notice and send it by registered post or speed post to The General Manager, The Chandigarh State Cooperative Bank Ltd., SCO 1088-89, Sector 22-B, Chandigarh-160022. The application must reach the office by 5:00 P.M. on the closing day; posting it by that day is not enough. The bank will reject applications that arrive late.
