NIMHANS Bangalore is looking for Senior Research Scientist (Genomics) and Junior Research Scientist (Genomics) on a contract basis for an SI-funded research project in the Department of Neurovirology. Selection Process

Responsibilities

  • Conduct genomics and molecular biology experiments as part of the SI-funded Neurovirology research project
  • Perform Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) library preparation, sequencing, and data analysis
  • Analyse genomic data using bioinformatics tools and statistical software
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records, experiment logs, and research databases
  • Prepare research reports, manuscripts, and presentations of findings
  • Coordinate with the Principal Investigator and other project staff on research activities
  • Follow NIMHANS laboratory safety protocols and biosafety guidelines
  • Assist in training junior staff or research fellows where required

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Post Graduate degree in Genomics / Life Sciences / Molecular Biology / Biotechnology or related field (PhD preferred for Senior post)

Preferred Qualification

PhD with NGS/bioinformatics experience; NET/GATE qualified candidates preferred for Junior post
