IIT Mandi JTS and Staff Nurse Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Mandi is recruiting regular non-teaching staff for technical services, a new Indian Knowledge Systems initiative and its campus medical unit. All roles are based at the Kamand campus in Mandi district, so this is a campus-based appointment rather than an all-India posting pool. The technical streams range from quantum-science instrumentation to software and network operations, while the nursing role supports day-to-day and emergency care.

The posts begin on probation under institute rules and are regularised after successful completion of that period. Posts and Disciplines

• Quantum Science and Technologies: an instrumentation-facing role for candidates trained in physics, electronics, electrical engineering, engineering physics or instrumentation.
• Indian Knowledge System and Mental Health Applications: an Ayurveda-focused technical role connecting clinical practice, mental-health applications and the institute's interdisciplinary work.
• Software Development and Automation: supports institutional applications, databases, deployment and troubleshooting across Digital and Computing Services.
• Network and System Administration: covers servers, operating systems, campus networks, security, backup, recovery and user support.

Post-wise Duties

Junior Technical Superintendent — Quantum Science

You will support laboratory instruments and electronics, help users operate equipment safely, troubleshoot technical issues and keep experimental facilities ready for teaching and research.

Junior Technical Superintendent — Indian Knowledge System

You will connect Ayurvedic clinical knowledge with mental-health applications, support intervention documentation, record follow-up information and help standardise procedures used in interdisciplinary trials.

Junior Technical Superintendent — Software Development

You will develop and support institutional software services, work with databases, test releases, investigate faults and help automate recurring digital workflows.

Junior Technical Superintendent — Network Administration

You will maintain servers and campus network infrastructure, manage user access, monitor reliability, support backups and resolve Linux or Windows system problems.

Staff Nurse

You will provide routine and emergency nursing care, keep clinical records, assist medical staff and respond to urgent cases in the campus health facility.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Probation: the initial probation can be extended under institute rules, and regularisation follows successful completion.
• Workplace skills: computer knowledge, relevant open-source office software and fluency in English apply across the advertised roles.
• Reservation documents: OBC-NCL and EWS certificates must follow the prescribed Government of India format and be issued on or after 1 April 2026.
• Experience proof: certificates must come on the employer's letterhead and state the issue date, exact service period, designation and pay drawn.
• Shortlisting: meeting the minimum standard does not guarantee a test call; IIT Mandi can apply a higher screening threshold based on marks, experience or specialisation.
• Final appointment: selection remains subject to document checks, antecedent verification and medical fitness.
