Punjab & Sind Bank (PSB) Financial Literacy Counselor Recruitment 2026

Punjab & Sind Bank, a Government of India Undertaking, has released a notification for hiring a Financial Literacy Counselor on a contract basis for 12 months at the Block-level FLC Centre in Narot Jaimal Singh, District Pathankot. The Counselor will work under the Regional Office Gurdaspur. There is no written exam — selection is based on your service record, interview, and vigilance clearance. This post is meant for retired bank officers who want to serve financially excluded people through financial literacy outreach.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: Graduate with sound knowledge of banking, law, and finance.
  • Service Background: You must be a retired Bank Official from a Public Sector Bank in Scale II or above.
  • Health: You must be in good health.
  • Computer Knowledge: You should have workable knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and internet.
  • Communication: Good communication and team-building skills are essential.
  • Domicile Preference: Candidates from the same District (Pathankot) will be preferred. Candidates from adjoining districts near the FLC Centre may also be recommended by the Zonal Manager.
  • No Penalty: You must not have been dismissed from service or given CRS or any major penalty during the last 5 years of service.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with passion for service to financially excluded people and those well versed with banking operations.

Age Limit

  • You should be below 65 years of age at the time of application.
  • The contract will run till you attain the age of 65 years (with yearly renewal).

Salary

  • Fixed consolidated remuneration of Rs. 18,000 per month.
  • Conveyance reimbursement of up to Rs. 2,000 per month on actuals (by ordinary bus or any other ordinary means of transport).
  • No TA/DA will be paid for participating in the interview.
  • No other allowances apply. This is a fixed contract role under the Zonal Office.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection will be based on:

  1. Screening of Applications: Applications will be screened by the Regional Office Gurdaspur based on eligibility.
  2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview by the Bank.
  3. Vigilance Clearance: Candidates will be considered for hiring only after vigilance clearance from the concerned Bank from which they retired.
  4. Final Hiring: The Bank's decision on hiring and posting will be final and binding.

Responsibilities

  • Organise indoor meetings and outdoor camps on financial literacy at Block level
  • Educate financially excluded people about basic banking services and products
  • Coordinate with officials and customers of different banks in the area
  • Work under the administrative control of the concerned Branch Manager at Block level
  • Promote awareness of bank accounts, government schemes, insurance, and credit facilities
  • Maintain records of camps, meetings, and outreach activities
  • Report camp outcomes and footfall to the concerned Regional and Zonal Offices

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Graduate with sound knowledge of banking, law, and finance. Must be a retired Bank Official from a Public Sector Bank in Scale II or above.

Preferred Qualification

Experience as Branch Incharge; passion for service to financially excluded people; candidates from Pathankot district preferred.
