Who Can Apply?

For Senior Defence Banking Advisor (SDBA):

• Retired or retiring Brigadier in Indian Army or equivalent rank in Indian Air Force or Indian Navy
• Maximum age: Less than 60 years as on 01 January 2026

For Defence Banking Advisor (DBA):

• Retired or retiring Selection Grade Colonel in Indian Army or equivalent (Group Captain in Indian Air Force or equivalent in Indian Navy)
• Maximum age: Less than 58 years as on 01 January 2026

Officers retiring within three months of the advertisement date (on or before 11 August 2026) may also apply. Officers under investigation or with major penalties are not eligible.

Age Limit

• SDBA: Less than 60 years as on 01 January 2026
• DBA: Less than 58 years as on 01 January 2026
• Maximum engagement period: 5 years or until attaining 65 years of age, whichever is earlier

Salary

• Senior Defence Banking Advisor (SDBA): Rs. 22.38 lakh per annum (approximately Rs. 1,86,500 per month). Includes fuel expenses, vehicle cost, leased accommodation, and telephone bill.
• Defence Banking Advisor (DBA): Rs. 18.60 lakh per annum (approximately Rs. 1,55,000 per month). Includes conveyance expenses, leased accommodation, and telephone bill.
• No dearness allowance or other allowances are paid beyond the compensation package.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

1. Shortlisting: Based on qualification, military service experience, and overall suitability.
2. Personal Interaction / Interview: Conducted in online or physical mode by PNB.
3. Document Verification: Original documents will be verified at the time of interview.

Serving officers must furnish a No Objection Certificate and resign before joining.

• Build and expand institutional relationships between Armed Forces, Paramilitary, Police, and PNB
• Liaise with local Divisions, Regimental Centres, Brigades, and Medical units of the Armed Forces
• Conduct mass account opening and loan campaigns inside large cantonments
• Participate in monthly Sainik Sammelans and Darbars to address defence personnel queries
• Ensure tapping of PBOR recruits' salary accounts and pension accounts
• Arrange account opening for officer cadets at military training institutions
• Coordinate with PNB branches for service delivery to defence customers in the assigned zone
• Report monthly progress on defence business growth to the head office
