State Bank of India (SBI) has released a notification for 35 Bank Medical Officer (BMO-II) posts on a regular basis under Advertisement No. CRPD/SCO/2026-27/03. Vacancies are spread across 14 circles including Lucknow, Maharashtra, Bhubaneswar, Jaipur, Patna and Chennai, and each circle also needs proficiency in a specified local language. 14 of the 35 posts are horizontally reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) — the highest share among all reserved categories. This role suits doctors who want a stable, non-clinical bank job managing the health and wellness of SBI staff and pensioners.

Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: MBBS from any university/college recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or a State Medical Council.
- Preferred: Post Graduate Diploma or an MD/MS degree — you get extra pay increments for these.
- Experience: You need 5 years as a General Practitioner after MBBS registration, or 3 years if you hold a postgraduate degree. Internship experience does not count.
- Language: You must be able to read, write and understand the local language of the circle you apply to. Candidates without a 10th/12th mark sheet in that language must clear a language test before joining.
Age Limit
- You should not be older than 35 years as on 31 May 2026.
- Age Relaxation: OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates get 3 years, SC/ST candidates get 5 years, and Ex-Servicemen get 5 years.
- PwBD Relaxation: 10 years for PwBD (UR/EWS), 13 years for PwBD (OBC), and 15 years for PwBD (SC/ST).
Salary
- Selected candidates get a Basic Pay of Rs. 64,820 per month in the MMGS-II scale (64820-2340/1-67160-2680/10-93960), which can go up to Rs. 93,960 with increments.
- You will also get a Non-Practising Allowance of 20% of Basic Pay, plus DA, HRA, CCA, Provident Fund, NPS, Leave Fare Concession and medical facility as per Bank rules.
- BMOs are not permitted to take up private practice, though attending one local and one national medical conference is allowed with approval.

- SC / ST / PwBD: No fee
- Payment mode: Online only, through Internet Banking, Debit Card or Credit Card. The fee is non-refundable.
Selection Process
The selection will be done in 3 stages:
- Online Written Test: Held tentatively in August 2026 at centres across India. It has a General Aptitude section (Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English — qualifying in nature) and a Professional Knowledge section of 50 questions for 100 marks that decides your merit. You get 45 minutes for each section. There is negative marking for wrong answers.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview worth 100 marks. Final merit is based on 70% weight to the written test and 30% weight to the interview.
- Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT): You must qualify in the local language of your chosen circle before joining, unless you already studied it in Class 10 or 12.

- Click on "New Registration" and fill in your basic details to generate a registration number and password.
- Complete the online application form with your education, experience and language details.

- Pay the application fee online using Debit Card, Credit Card or Internet Banking.
- Submit the form and save a printout of the application and e-receipt.

Responsibilities
- Attend to the health needs of Bank officers, dependents and pensioners at the dispensary
- Arrange admissions and tie-ups with empanelled hospitals and diagnostic centres
- Conduct medical examinations of new recruits and promotees, including contract staff
- Scrutinise medical bills and hospitalisation claims of employees and pensioners
- Maintain adequate stock of medicines and oversee the dispensary budget
- Organise wellness camps and preventive health checks for Bank staff
- Coordinate Medical Board proceedings and submit opinions on referred cases
- Attend to emergencies outside office hours when called upon

Exam Pattern
The online written test has two parts: General Aptitude and Professional Knowledge. You get 45 minutes for each part.
