About This Job

OUAT SRF Cotton Research Recruitment 2026: Overview

Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) is engaging a Senior Research Fellow for its RKVY project on strengthening cotton research at the Regional Research and Technology Transfer Station in Bhawanipatna. The fellowship places an agriculture postgraduate directly within a field-oriented cotton programme, where research must connect with the crop conditions and pest pressures seen in western Odisha. This is a temporary project role, not a regular university appointment.

The project is based at RRTTS Bhawanipatna, one of OUAT's regional links between university research and local farming systems. An entomology specialist is a practical fit because cotton research depends on careful pest observation, field records and timely communication of findings. You should be ready for work that combines plot-level activity, research documentation and coordination with the project's scientific team.

This fellowship suits someone who wants hands-on exposure to applied agricultural research rather than a classroom-only assignment. The project setting can involve seasonal field schedules, monitoring of cotton trials and preparation of clear observations for the principal investigator. Your contribution will support research decisions made for the station and the wider RKVY programme. Careful, repeatable field notes are especially important because seasonal observations must remain useful when the team compares trials and prepares later project reports.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Nature of engagement: The appointment is purely temporary and contractual under the cotton-research project.
  • Tenure: The initial engagement runs up to the stated project term and may be extended for another year or until the project ends, whichever comes first, when the work is still needed and performance is satisfactory.
  • Early closure: OUAT may end the engagement without prior notice or without assigning a reason.
  • Resignation: You must give one month's notice before leaving; otherwise, one month's salary may be recovered or deposited.
  • Interview travel: OUAT will not pay TA or DA for attending the walk-in.
  • Verification: Admission to the walk-in depends on producing the required originals and supporting records at the venue.

Application Submission Notes

This recruitment uses a walk-in interview at the Directorate of Research, OUAT, Bhubaneswar. Report with the completed bio-data in the notification format and be ready for verification before the interview; there is no online application portal for this engagement.

Carry your records in an organised set so the team can match the bio-data with the originals quickly. The venue is in Bhubaneswar, while the selected fellow will work at RRTTS Bhawanipatna, so plan your interview travel separately from the eventual place of work.
