OUAT is hiring 31 Assistants on a contractual basis for its Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) across Odisha. If you have a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university, you can apply offline by post. The last date for your application to reach the university is 12 August 2026 by 5:00 PM. You should be up to 30 years old (with relaxations for reserved categories). Salary starts from Rs. 35,400 per month under Level-9 of the 7th Pay Commission.
Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT) Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 31 Posts
Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar has released a revised advertisement (No. E-II-II/02/2019 (Part)/10984/UAT, dated 13 July 2026) for 31 Assistant posts under different Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) across the state. This is in revision to an earlier advertisement dated 22 January 2019, so candidates who already applied then need not apply again - they can only send supplementary documents if needed, by the same 12 August 2026 deadline. These are Contractual Project Staff posts funded by ICAR, meaning your engagement continues only as long as 100% ICAR project funding is available, and your service is coterminous with the central project.
Vacancy Breakdown by Category
- ST (Scheduled Tribe): 7 posts
- UR (Unreserved): 16 posts
- SC (Scheduled Caste): 5 posts
- SEBC: 3 posts
- Total: 31 posts
- PWD: 1 post (horizontal reservation within the above categories)
A number of posts in each category are reserved for women candidates. If enough women candidates are not available in a category in a given year, the post will be filled by a male candidate of that same category. The reservation break-up may also change as per Government orders.
Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university.
- You must clearly mention the percentage of marks you scored (up to two decimals) in your application form.
- You may need to submit a certificate showing your university's conversion formula (CGPA to percentage) at the time of document verification.
- Odia Language: You must have passed Odia as a subject up to 7th standard, with a certificate attached to your application.
- In-service candidates must apply through the proper channel and submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) within one month of the last date, or your candidature will not be considered.
Age Limit
- You should be up to 30 years old, with a further 3-year COVID-19 relaxation making the effective limit 33 years as on the last date of application.
- Age Relaxation: ST/SC/SEBC/Women candidates get an additional 5 years. Persons with Disability (PwD) get an additional 10 years.
- SEBC candidates must submit a Non-Creamy Layer certificate for the current year.
Salary
- Selected candidates will get Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month under Level-9 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (equivalent to PB-2, Rs. 9,300-34,800 plus Grade Pay Rs. 4,200 under the 6th CPC).
- The pay may also be revised as prescribed by the funding agency (ICAR) from time to time.
- As a Contractual Project Staff member, you are not entitled to terminal benefits, and your service ends with the project funding.
Application Fee

- Payment mode: Deposit via Green Channel Counter (GCC), internet banking, or RTGS into the Comptroller, OUAT's account (A/C No. 10173711536, State Bank of India, OUAT Campus Branch, Branch Code 03341, IFSC: SBIN0003341). No other mode of payment is accepted.
- Attach a signed photocopy of your deposit receipt with the application.
Selection Process
Selection is based on a written test only:
- Written Test: 150 objective questions for 150 marks in 2 hours, covering General English, General Awareness, and Quantitative Aptitude/Reasoning & Mental Ability.
- Skill Test: Qualifying only (no marks) - checks your computer application and office automation skills. Candidates are called at a 1:4 ratio based on the written test merit list.
- Final Merit: Based purely on your written test marks, subject to qualifying the skill test.
You need these minimum qualifying marks in the written test: 50% for Unreserved, 45% for SEBC, and 40% for ST/SC/PwD candidates. If two candidates end up with equal marks, the older candidate is ranked higher; if age also ties, the percentage of marks in your degree programme decides the ranking.

- Fill it in completely and attach self-attested copies of all your certificates and mark sheets from HSC onwards.
- Attach your fee deposit receipt (signed copy) and Odia-language certificate.
- Superscribe the envelope "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ASSISTANT" with the advertisement number and date.
- Send it by Speed Post or Registered Post to the Registrar, OUAT, Bhubaneswar-751003, Odisha.
- Make sure it reaches the Registrar's office by 5:00 PM on 12 August 2026 - late applications will not be entertained, and the University is not responsible for postal delays.

- Handle day-to-day administrative and office work at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra
- Maintain records, files and correspondence related to KVK programs
- Assist in organizing farmer training programs and extension activities
- Prepare reports and documentation for ICAR and OUAT authorities
- Manage data entry and computer-based office automation tasks
- Coordinate with scientists and staff for scheme-related paperwork
- Handle correspondence with farmers, departments and funding agencies
- Support accounts and store-related record keeping as assigned
