About This Job

Odisha Police has invited applications from retired Assistant Sub-Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors, and Inspectors of Police for 800 Special Police Officer (SPO) posts on a contractual basis. Eligible retired officers who are permanent residents of Odisha and aged 65 or below can apply offline before 30 March 2026. Selection test is scheduled for 17 April 2026.

Selection Process

Responsibilities

  • Assist regular police force in maintaining law and order across assigned districts

  • Support crime prevention and community policing activities in the deployed area
  • Carry out surveillance and security duties during events, festivals, and sensitive periods
  • Provide mentoring and operational support to junior police personnel based on experience

Retired Assistant Sub-Inspector / Sub-Inspector / Inspector of Police from Odisha Police, CAPF, or Ex-Servicemen

Preferred Qualification

Very Good or Good CCR/PAR for continuous 60 months before superannuation

Required Skills

Law enforcement experience, Odia language proficiency (read, write, speak), knowledge of local policing procedures
