MPESB Constable Driver Recruitment 2026: Overview

Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB) is conducting direct recruitment for Constable Driver posts under the state Home (Police) Department. The recruitment covers the Special Armed Force and district police, with cadre and unit preferences forming part of your application. Police Headquarters handles appointment formalities, while the board conducts the recruitment examination.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Constable Driver, Special Armed Force: This cadre is separate from the district force. If you choose it, the Special Armed Force rules apply to your candidature and appointment.
  • Constable Driver, District Police: This cadre covers district units and listed Government Railway Police units. You can indicate unit preferences, but the department makes the final allocation according to merit, available posts and its staffing needs.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Home district restriction: You will not be posted in your home district. Keep this restriction in mind when deciding your unit preferences; a preferred location does not guarantee an allocation there.
  • Initial unit commitment: You must complete at least five years in the unit where you are appointed before becoming eligible for transfer to another unit. This affects how soon you can seek a change of posting.
  • Wider posting liability: The government can post you to other police branches or state departments, including assignments inside or outside Madhya Pradesh. The notice names the Economic Offences Wing and Lokayukta establishment as examples; your consent is not needed for such assignments.
  • Probation and training: Appointment includes three years of probation and the prescribed training. The rules do not allow a temporary or permanent exemption from training, and failure to report can lead to withdrawal of the appointment offer.
  • Reservation: State reservation benefits depend on Madhya Pradesh domicile. Applicants from other states can compete for unreserved open posts. Horizontal reservation for Home Guards and former servicemen operates within the relevant vertical categories.
  • Category allocation: Reserved-category applicants can be considered for an unreserved place under the rulebook's merit and concession conditions. The department applies both your preferences and the relevant reservation rules when deciding the final cadre.
  • Recruitment scope: The notified establishment can change before final appointment. Your application and examination result do not by themselves create a right to a particular unit or appointment.
  • Service checks: Be accurate about your background. Concealing information during character checks can lead to rejection or removal from service even after appointment.
  • Waiting list: The rulebook provides for a waiting list that remains usable for one year after the result or until the next examination result, whichever comes first. Inclusion on that list does not guarantee appointment.
