NTPC Limited (a Maharatna Government of India enterprise) has released Advertisement No. 06A/26 for 20 Assistant Officer posts in the Environment Management discipline. NTPC is India's largest power conglomerate with an installed capacity of 89 GW and is targeting 149 GW capacity by 2032. The Company is hiring Executives in Environment Management to support its projects, stations and sustainability goals.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification (Option 1): Full-time Graduate Engineering Degree in Environment with at least 60% marks.
• Qualification (Option 2): Graduate in any stream with at least 60% marks plus PG Degree/PG Diploma/M.Sc./M.Tech in Environment Engineering, Environment Science or Environmental Management (or M.Tech with specialisation in these areas) with at least 60% marks from a recognised university or institution.
• Nationality: Indian Nationals only.
• Mode of Study: All qualifications must be full-time from recognised universities/institutions approved in India.

Age Limit

• Upper age limit: 30 years as on the last date of online application (22 May 2026).
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 10 years for PwBD (over and above category relaxation).
• Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation as per Government of India guidelines.

Salary

• Pay Scale: Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 1,20,000 per month at Grade E0 (IDA pattern).

Selection Process

Selection is multi-stage:

1. Application Screening: Shortlisting based on qualification and percentage of marks.
2. Online Written Test (Computer-Based Test): Two parts — Subject Knowledge Test (SKT) and Executive Aptitude Test (EAT). You must qualify in both sections separately.
3. Personal Interview
4. Medical Examination by NTPC Medical Board before joining.

Final selection is based on 85% weightage of online written test marks and 15% weightage of interview marks. Detailed medical health standards are available on the careers.ntpc.co.in website.

• Monitor environmental parameters at NTPC plants and projects as per CPCB/SPCB norms
• Manage compliance with environment clearance and consent-to-operate conditions
• Prepare environmental impact assessment and management plans for new projects
• Handle solid waste, fly ash utilisation, water management and air quality monitoring
• Coordinate with State Pollution Control Boards and the Ministry of Environment for approvals
• Implement greenbelt development and biodiversity conservation initiatives at plant sites
• Prepare monthly environment reports and respond to regulatory inspections
• Support NTPC's transition plan towards 149 GW capacity by 2032 with sustainability targets
