NMPA Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Overview

New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA), the major port at Panambur, Mangaluru, is taking in recent graduates and diploma holders as Graduate and Diploma Apprentice Trainees for its 2026-27 batch. The training is handled by the port's Administration Department under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and runs for one year.

The drive is not limited to engineers — B.A. and B.Com graduates and diploma holders in Commercial Practice also have training slots. If you finished your course recently and want a year of hands-on experience inside a working port, this is worth a look.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Training only: The apprenticeship ends after one year. NMPA makes no promise of a permanent or temporary job once you finish.
• Passing year: The eligibility rules accept only candidates who passed the qualifying exam in 2024, 2025 or 2026. The introduction refers to the 2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26 batches, so check your year carefully before applying.
• Results in hand: If you are still writing your final exam, waiting for results, or do not yet have your mark sheets and degree or diploma certificate (provisional or final), you cannot apply.
• No repeat apprentices: Anyone who has already done, or is currently doing, apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act — at NMPA or anywhere else — is not eligible.
• Recognised qualification: Your degree or diploma must be recognised by a University or Board of Technical Education.

This is an offline application. Fill in the prescribed format attached to the notice and address it to The Asst. Secretary (PAC), Administration Department, New Mangalore Port Authority, Panambur, Mangaluru – 575010, with copies of all your semester mark sheets and, if you belong to SC/ST/OBC, your caste certificate.

The notice carries two separate forms: one for Graduate Engineering applicants (marks from the 5th to 8th semester) and one for Diploma applicants (marks from the 2nd to 6th semester). No separate form is printed for B.A. or B.Com applicants, so check with the Administration Department before sending yours.
