NIT Warangal JRF Recruitment 2026 - SERB Bioactive Glass Project

National Institute of Technology Warangal (NIT Warangal), an Institute of National Importance, has invited applications for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position under a SERB-sponsored research project titled "Development of electrospun borate Bio-active glass substituted polymeric nano bio-composite fibers for tissue engineering applications". The project duration is 9 months and the position is purely temporary. The selected JRF is also eligible to register for a Ph.D. at NIT Warangal when the next admission window opens.

Who Can Apply?

• Mandatory: Valid GATE / NET / CSIR-JRF / UGC-JRF score
• UG: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or Metallurgy with first class
• PG: ME / M.Tech in Thermal Engineering, Production, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Additive Manufacturing, CIM or CAD-CAM (or equivalent) with first class. GATE qualification mandatory (old GATE score also valid).
• M.Sc. Chemistry with CSIR-JRF qualification is also acceptable
• Minimum marks: 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA at both UG and PG for General / EWS / OBC-NCL; 55% or 6.0 CGPA for SC / ST / PwD
• Desired: Knowledge of bioactive glass, glass fibers and characterisation techniques like SEM, XRD, FTIR

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 30 years
• Age relaxation for SC / ST / OBC / PH / Female candidates as per Government of India norms

Salary

• Consolidated fellowship: Rs. 37,000 per month
• HRA: 18% extra as per NIT Warangal norms
• The selected candidate can also register for a Ph.D. at NIT Warangal when the institute opens admissions

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

1. Shortlisting: Applications screened based on qualifications, GATE/NET score and experience
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be informed of the interview date by email and phone. The interview will be conducted online or offline.

No TA / DA will be paid for attending the interview.

• Work on the SERB project for developing electrospun borate bioactive glass-substituted polymeric nano bio-composite fibers
• Synthesise bioactive glass materials and prepare nano-composite fiber samples
• Perform material characterisation using SEM, XRD and FTIR techniques
• Analyse experimental results and prepare technical reports for the Principal Investigator
• Maintain accurate lab records and project documentation
• Assist in writing research papers, conference proceedings and project review reports
• Coordinate with the project supervisor for procurement and lab activities
