DMHO Mahabubabad NHM Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Office of the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO), Mahabubabad is hiring doctors, nurses, paramedics and support staff for the National Health Mission (NHM) programmes it runs in the district for 2026-27. The drive is run by a District Selection Committee headed by the District Collector on behalf of the District Health Society. Every post is contractual (the District Accounts Officer post is outsourced) and lasts one year or until the need ends, whichever comes first.

The biggest share of openings is for Mid-Level Health Providers (MLHP) at the Palle Dawakhana village health and wellness centres, where MBBS doctors, BAMS doctors and trained staff nurses compete for the same seats. There is no written test: the merit list is built from your marks in the qualifying course plus a small weightage for age. If you are a qualified health worker registered with the relevant Telangana council, this is a chance to work close to home in a district health job.

Posts and Disciplines

• MLHP / CHO / Medical Officer (Palle Dawakhana): runs a village or urban health and wellness centre. MBBS doctors get first preference, then BAMS doctors, then B.Sc Nursing or GNM staff nurses with the CPCH bridge course.
• Physicians (MBBS / MD General Medicine): multi-zonal posts; candidates with three or more years of experience may get preference.
• Pediatrician / Medical Officer: for child health programmes; FBNC training and newborn-care experience may get preference for the Medical Officer seats.
• Staff Nurse and ANM: zonal (Zone-IV) nursing posts that need Telangana Nursing and Midwifery Council registration.
• Lab Technician, Pharmacist, Ophthalmic Assistant and Physiotherapist / Occupational Therapist: zonal paramedical posts that need Telangana Para Medical Board or Pharmacy Council registration.
• Senior DOTS Plus TB HIV Supervisor: a field supervision post under the TB programme; you must own a two-wheeler in your name and hold a valid driving licence.
• Refrigerator Mechanic: a district-level technical post for cold-chain equipment; computer knowledge is essential.
• District Accounts Officer: the only outsourced post, handling programme accounts and finance at the district office.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Temporary engagement: These are not regular government posts. The contract runs for one year or until the need ends, and either side can end it with 30 days' notice.
• Local reservation: Local status and reservation follow the Presidential Order 2018 (GO Ms No.124 and GO Ms No.128). MBBS and BAMS doctor posts are multi-zonal; staff nurse posts are zonal.
• Scheduled areas: Vacancies falling in scheduled areas under G.O.68 go only to local Scheduled Tribe candidates.
• Women's reservation: 33 1/3% of posts are reserved for women, and SC reservation follows the new sub-classification into SC Group-I, II and III.
• Headquarters and transfers: Selected candidates must stay at their headquarters, and the posts are not transferable. Some posts involve touring.
• Training: Selected MBBS doctors and staff nurses posted as MLHP attend a two-week induction training; BAMS doctors complete the CPCH bridge course.
• Waiting panel: The selection panel stays valid for one year and can be used to fill later vacancies.
• Programme-wise posting: Which NHM programme you work under is announced only after final selection, and MLHP postings follow merit and your options.

Download the application form from the Mahabubabad district website, fill it in, and attach self-attested copies of all your certificates. Hand it in personally or send it by registered post to Office of the DMHO, Room F-25, IDOC, Mahabubabad. Certificates sent after the closing date are not accepted, and the committee is not responsible for postal delays.

Pay the fee by Demand Draft in favour of "The District Medical and Health Officer, Mahabubabad" and attach it with the form; an application without the DD is rejected. The merit list is put up on the district website for objections before the final selection.
