National Institute of Technology Warangal (NIT Warangal), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, has released a notification to hire one Junior Research Fellow for the project titled "PRISM: Performance-aware Resource Interference Study and Mitigation for Virtual Network Functions on Heterogeneous Accelerators" in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The project is funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) under its Prime Minister Early Career Research Grant (PMECRG) program and runs for 2 years and 10 months. The selected JRF will also be eligible to register for a Ph.D. at NIT Warangal as per institute rules, making this a strong entry point if you want to pursue doctoral research later. This role suits candidates with solid programming skills and an interest in networking and systems research.

Who Can Apply?

NIT Warangal has laid out two separate qualification routes for this JRF post — you need to meet either one.

Route 1 (with a Master's degree):

• You need 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA at both UG and PG level (General/EWS/OBC-NCL), or 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA (SC/ST/PwD), along with a B.Tech/B.E. in CSE, IT, AI, or Electronics and Communication Engineering AND an M.Tech/M.E. in Computer Science and Engineering.

Route 2 (Bachelor's degree only):

• You need a B.Tech/B.E. in CSE, IT, or AI with at least 7.5 CGPA or 70% marks (General/EWS/OBC-NCL) or 7.0 CGPA or 65% marks (SC/ST/PwD) — no Master's degree needed under this route.

Desired Skills (preferred, not mandatory):

• Strong programming skills in C/C++
• Familiarity with Linux kernel networking, or willingness to learn
• Prior research experience in networking, systems, or high-performance computing

Age Limit

• You should be under 30 years of age to apply.
• Age Relaxation: Up to 5 years relaxation is available for SC/ST/OBC candidates, women, and persons with disabilities.

Salary

• If you have qualified CSIR-UGC NET or GATE, you will get Rs. 37,000 + 20% HRA = Rs. 44,400 per month for the first two years, rising to Rs. 42,000 + 20% HRA = Rs. 50,400 per month in the third year after upgrading to Senior Research Fellow (SRF).
• If you have not qualified NET/GATE, you will get Rs. 30,000 + 20% HRA = Rs. 36,000 per month for the first two years, rising to Rs. 33,000 + 20% HRA = Rs. 39,600 per month in the third year after upgrading to SRF.
• HRA is paid as per institute rules, and you may also get on-campus hostel and mess facilities, subject to availability.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on your application and an interview:

2. Interview: Only shortlisted candidates will be informed by email and called for an interview. You must confirm your availability for an online interview if required.
