The National Institute of Technology Warangal (NIT Warangal) has invited applications for 1 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) post in the Department of Electrical Engineering. This post is part of a research project titled "I-HPEV: Interactive Hybrid Power Supply System for Grid and EV Charging Application" (Advt. No. NITW/EE/2026/CHR/ANRF-IRG), funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) under the Inclusivity Research Grant (IRG) scheme. NIT Warangal is an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. This is a 3-year temporary research role, and the selected fellow can also register for a Ph.D. degree at NIT Warangal. It is a great fit for engineers keen on power electronics, electric vehicles, and renewable energy.

The project builds an interactive hybrid power system that can feed both the electricity grid and EV charging stations, supporting India's move towards clean transport and renewable energy. As a JRF, you will work on both software simulation and real hardware, design power converters, and publish your findings. This post suits recent M.Tech graduates in power electronics who want to build a research career and move towards a Ph.D.

Who Can Apply?

Candidates given preference (not mandatory)

• Qualification in GATE in Electrical Engineering.
• Prior experience in an R&D laboratory or in relevant academic/industry projects.
• Knowledge of power converters, MATLAB, PSIM, PSCAD, PCB design, and DSP/FPGA controllers.

Age Limit

• The maximum age limit is 30 years.
• Age Relaxation: Age relaxation is given as per the norms and guidelines of the institute.

Salary

• You will get Rs. 37,000 per month for the first two years.
• The pay rises to Rs. 42,000 per month in the third year.
• You will also get HRA as per institute rules, along with on-campus hostel and mess facilities subject to availability.

Duration and Other Benefits

• The fellowship runs for 3 years or till the project closes, whichever is earlier. It is purely temporary.
• The selected fellow can register for a Ph.D. at NIT Warangal as per institute rules once the Ph.D. advertisement is open.
• This is a hands-on role involving both simulation and hardware-based study of power systems.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written test for this post. Selection is done in these steps:
