National Institute of Secondary Steel Technology (NISST), Mandi Gobindgarh, has released Vacancy Notification No. NISST/P&A/PERS/CON/2026-2 for two posts on a contractual basis. The recruitment covers 1 Technical Manager (Electrical & Electronics) position and 5 Empanelment posts for Faculty conducting Electrician Courses. Who Can Apply?

For Technical Manager (Electrical & Electronics):

• Qualification: Master's degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering from an AICTE-approved institution
• Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in a steel plant in the areas of Energy Management, Power Systems, Maintenance and Training
• Preference: Candidates with experience in Government PSU. Early joiners will be preferred.

For Faculty (Electrician Courses):

• Qualification: B.E. in Electrical Engineering from an AICTE-approved institution
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in the Steel Industry
• Preference: Candidates residing in nearby local areas will be given preference

Age Limit

• Technical Manager: Maximum age 35 years as on 30 April 2026
• Faculty (Empanelment): Not Applicable
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC/PwD and other eligible categories will get age relaxation as per Government of India rules

Salary

• Technical Manager: Up to Rs. 1,25,000 per month (consolidated). Engagement is initially for 3 years (1+2), extendable by another 3 years based on performance.
• Faculty (Empanelment): Paid on hourly lecture basis at Rs. 1,000 per hour
• The first year of the Technical Manager engagement will be on probation
• Medical Insurance and Accidental Insurance will be provided by the Institute after appointment
• To-and-fro travel reimbursement for the interview is given as per institute rules (up to 2nd AC fare by Mail/Express train or equivalent Deluxe AC bus)

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection process is interview-based:

1. Shortlisting: Based on qualification, experience and documents submitted with the application
2. Personal Interview at NISST, Mandi Gobindgarh
3. Document Verification: Originals and self-attested copies of date of birth, educational and experience certificates must be produced

• Handle technical matters relating to steelmaking, automation and Industry 4.0 initiatives
• Conduct energy audits, M&V audits, safety audits and inspections at steel plants
• Carry out power system studies and recommend improvements for plant maintenance
• Deliver Electrician training courses, practical demonstrations and skill assessments for trainees
• Prepare and maintain training records and skill development documentation at NISST
• Offer consultancy support on energy management and electrical systems to industry partners
• Support faculty empanelment, lecture delivery and student evaluation in Electrician courses
