Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli (IIM Trichy), the eleventh IIM established under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has released a rolling advertisement for Academic Associate positions on contract basis. The post is suitable for people with a consistently good academic record who want to pursue a career in academics. This role gives you hands-on experience working with Faculty Members and Students at one of India's premier B-Schools. Freshers and experienced candidates with relevant qualifications can apply.

Who Can Apply?

Economics & Public Policy

• PhD (with or without experience), OR
• Graduate or Post Graduate in Economics or related fields, OR
• B.E./B.Tech with adequate experience

Finance and Accounting

• PhD (with or without experience), OR
• MBA or equivalent with First Class in Finance and Accounting, OR
• M.Com First Class with specialization in Computer Applications
• Candidates with PhD or registered for PhD in Finance/Accounting will be preferred.

General Management

• PhD (with or without experience), OR
• MBA or equivalent with First Class
• Background in Law or interest in legal aspects of business is an added qualification.

Information Systems and Analytics (ISA)

• PhD with expertise in Information Systems, Analytics or related areas, OR
• Post-graduates in Management, IT, Systems, Analytics, OR
• B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science with adequate experience

Marketing

• PhD (with or without experience), OR
• First Class MBA in Marketing (or related field) with 1 year experience in academics or industry, OR
• ACA, AICWA, B.E./B.Tech with adequate experience

Organizational Behaviour & HRM

• PhD (with or without experience), OR
• Graduate with at least 50% marks and good written and spoken English (Arts, Science, or Engineering)

Operations Management & Quantitative Techniques

• PhD (with or without experience), OR
• B.E. (any branch) from a recognised institute, OR
• B.Sc or M.Sc in Mathematics or Statistics, OR
• MBA with specialization in Operations / Decision Sciences / Analytics

Strategy

• PhD (with or without experience), OR
• MBA or Master's Degree in Economics, Psychology, Sociology, or related field
• Good academic record required

Key Skills (All Areas)

• Excellent written and verbal English communication
• Proficiency in MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of Python, R, or VBA Macros will be preferred
• Exposure to statistical functions and graphing tools
• Willingness to learn and a positive attitude

Age Limit

• For candidates with PhD: Upper age limit is 35 years
• For candidates without PhD: Upper age limit is 30 years
• No minimum age limit

Salary

• Candidates with PhD: Rs. 30,000 per month (consolidated)
• Candidates without PhD: Rs. 25,000 per month (consolidated)
• Candidates without the required experience may be considered on merit at a lower stipend.

Tenure: Fixed term appointment for 1 year. The contract may be extended based on performance and institute requirements, but total tenure will not exceed 2 years.

Selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Written Test / Skill Test — to test your domain knowledge and skills relevant to the area you apply for.
2. Personal Interview — final round to assess your fit for the role.

• Support faculty members in various academic activities at IIM Trichy
• Help prepare course outlines, teaching notes, and reading material
• Grade class participation, examinations, and assignments
• Assist in invigilation and conduct of exams
• Work on research and consultancy projects with faculty
• Help organise Management Development Programmes (MDPs) and academic events
• Distribute course materials and provide secretarial assistance
• Conduct meetings and prepare minutes when required
