Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad has released notification No. HR2/12/2026/TIMS (R) dated 22 June 2026 for temporary medical faculty engagement at Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS), Sanath Nagar. The posts are linked to the operationalisation of TIMS under Government of Telangana sanction, and the engagement is for one year from joining or until the requirement ends, whichever is earlier. There is no written exam; selection is through a walk-in interview before the NIMS Selection Committee.

Vacancy Details

Assistant Professor reservation applies to 24 posts as per Government of Telangana rules. Department-wise reservation includes OC, SC, ST, BC-A, BC-B, BC-C, BC-D, BC-E, EWS and one PH(OH) slot. Women get 33.3% horizontal reservation in each applicable category, and EWS posts may be filled under OC if suitable EWS applicants are not available.

Who Can Apply?

Common Qualification

• Qualification: You need DM/M.Ch/DNB/DrNB in the corresponding super-speciality.
• Registration: Keep your valid NMC or State Medical Council registration ready for verification.
• Specialties covered: Cardiology, CTVS, Nephrology, Urology, Medical Gastroenterology, Surgical Gastroenterology, Neurology and Neurosurgery.

Professor

• Experience and publications: You need experience as per NIMS/NMC rules and at least 4 publications, including 2 publications during service as Additional Professor or Associate Professor.

Associate Professor

• Experience: You need 4 years of eligible teaching experience as Assistant Professor in the concerned super-speciality after the qualifying degree.
• Publications: Minimum 2 publications during the Assistant Professor tenure.

Assistant Professor

• Experience: Experience must be as per NIMS/NMC regulations for Assistant Professor appointment in the respective super-speciality.

Age Limit

• Professor: Maximum age is 58 years.
• Associate Professor and Assistant Professor: Maximum age is 50 years.
• Age reference date: Age will be calculated as on 1 July 2026.
• Age relaxation: SC/ST/BC/EWS get 5 years, PH(OH) gets 10 years, and Telangana Government employees may get up to 5 years based on regular service.
• Upper cap: After relaxation, you cannot cross 65 years as on 1 July 2026.

Salary

• Professor: Rs. 2,20,000 per month consolidated salary.
• Associate Professor: Rs. 1,88,000 per month consolidated salary.
• Assistant Professor: Rs. 1,42,506 per month consolidated salary.
• No extra allowances: The notice says DA, HRA, NPA, TA, pension benefits, annual increments, leave encashment and other regular-employee benefits will not be paid.

Application Fee

• All candidates except SC/ST: Rs. 2,000
• SC/ST candidates: Rs. 1,000
• Payment mode: Demand Draft in favour of The Director, NIMS, Hyderabad or payment through IP Billing, Ground Floor, Old Building, NIMS.
• Refund: The fee is non-refundable.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection will be through a walk-in interview before the NIMS Selection Committee. The committee will assess your academic qualification, teaching experience, clinical experience, research publications and interview performance.

1. Document Check: Bring the filled application form, originals and one self-attested copy set.
2. Walk-in Interview: Report at the NIMS Board Room at 9:00 AM on 6 July 2026.
3. Committee Assessment: NIMS will assess qualification, teaching work, clinical exposure, publications and interview performance.
4. Final Decision: The decision of the Selection Committee and the Director, NIMS will be final.

6. Reach by 9:00 AM on 6 July 2026. No separate call letter will be issued.
