ESIC Guwahati Junior Resident Recruitment 2026: Overview

Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), the statutory health-insurance body under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, is engaging Junior Residents on contract at its ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Beltola, Guwahati. The openings are in the ICU / Casualty and General Surgery departments, and the hospital wants doctors for immediate joining.

Selection is through a walk-in interview at the hospital, with document verification on the same morning. Doctors who can join at once and have relevant hospital experience get preference — the more relevant experience you have, the higher you rank. It is a one-year contract, a good fit if you hold an MBBS with medical council registration and want hands-on emergency or surgical exposure in a teaching hospital in the North East.

Posts and Disciplines

• Junior Resident – ICU / Casualty: work in the intensive care unit and the emergency casualty wing of the Beltola hospital; one seat is reserved for ST and one for OBC candidates.
• Junior Resident – General Surgery: work in the surgical wards, OPD and operation theatres; one seat is reserved for an OBC candidate.

The number of seats is provisional and may go up or down, and Junior Residents can be moved to any other department when the hospital needs it.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The contract is for one year, subject to satisfactory performance. It gives no claim to regularisation or a permanent post.
• Bond JRs come first: Your contract can end when ESIC pass-out bond Junior Residents join.
• Security deposit: You submit a DD / banker's cheque of Rs. 30,000 in favour of "ESI Fund Account No. 1", payable at Guwahati. It is forfeited if you resign or leave within nine months.
• Notice period: Either side can end the engagement with one month's notice.
• No private practice: Private practice of any kind is not allowed during the contract.
• No housing: Hostel accommodation or quarters are not provided.
• Reservation note: SC, ST, OBC and EWS candidates applying against unreserved seats get no age relaxation or reservation; reserved seats may go to other categories for less than 45 days if no suitable candidate turns up.
• NOC needed: Serving doctors and doctors under bond must bring a No Objection Certificate from their employer, or they will not be interviewed.
• Medical fitness: Selection is subject to you proving your medical fitness; no TA/DA is paid for the interview.

There is no online form. Fill in the common application form attached to the notice, paste a self-attested photograph and report with your original documents to the Conference Room, 5th Floor, ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Beltola, Guwahati-781022.

Reporting for document verification is between 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM on the interview day. Only candidates whose documents are verified are allowed into the walk-in interview.
