National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (NIEPID) Recruitment 2026 - 5 Posts

The National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (NIEPID), formerly known as the National Institute for the Mentally Handicapped, is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. Through Employment Notice No. 02/2026, NIEPID has opened applications for 5 posts — 4 on direct recruitment and 1 on deputation/contract basis. Selected candidates can be posted at NIEPID headquarters in Secunderabad or at its Regional Centres in Navi Mumbai, Noida, or Kolkata as per the institute's requirement.

Vacancy Details

*Deputy Director (Administration) is to be filled on deputation/contract basis only. Tenure is initially for 2 years or return of the incumbent, whichever is earlier.

Who Can Apply?

Rehabilitation Officer (Level-7)

• Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Social Work / Rehabilitation Work / Sociology / Psychology or equivalent from a recognised University, with DVTE (MR) / DVR (MR) certification.
• Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in vocational training, guidance, and social work with Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).
• Registration: Valid RCI/MCI registration as on the last date of application is required.

Accounts Officer (Level-7)

• Qualification: Degree from a recognised University.
• Experience: At least 5 years of experience as Section Officer (Audit & Accounts), Jr. Accounts Officer, Civil Accounts Officer in Central Govt. / autonomous body / Public Undertaking, etc.
• Desirable: Pass in SAS (Subordinate Accounts Service) examination.

Driver (Level-2)

• Qualification: Pass in 10th Standard / SSC or equivalent.
• Licence: Valid driving licence for Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMV).
• Knowledge: Should have knowledge of motor mechanism and be able to handle minor repairs/defects.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of driving experience.
• Desirable: Experience of driving a school bus.

Catering Assistant (Level-2)

• Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of catering experience in a Govt. or Non-Govt. establishment.

Deputy Director (Administration) — Deputation/Contract

• Qualification: Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Personnel Management / Industrial Relations / Management / Public Administration / Arts / Science / Commerce from a recognised university.
• Experience: At least 10 years of experience in personnel matters, office management, establishment work, recruitment, purchase of stores, etc., of which 5 years must be in a senior administrative position in a Government, semi-government, or corporate sector with knowledge of Government practices and procedures.

Age Limit

• Rehabilitation Officer: Maximum 45 years
• Accounts Officer: Maximum 45 years
• Driver: Maximum 35 years
• Catering Assistant: Maximum 30 years
• Deputy Director (Deputation): Maximum 55 years
• Deputy Director (Contract): Maximum 56 years
• Age will be counted as on the last date of receipt of applications (11 May 2026).
• Age Relaxation: Applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-Servicemen and employees already working in Central Government Departments as per GOI norms.

Salary

• Rehabilitation Officer & Accounts Officer: Pay Level-7 — entry pay Rs. 44,900 per month (7th CPC Pay Matrix)
• Driver & Catering Assistant: Pay Level-2 — entry pay Rs. 19,900 per month (7th CPC Pay Matrix)
• Deputy Director (Deputation): Pay Level-12 — entry pay Rs. 78,800 per month (7th CPC Pay Matrix)
• Deputy Director (Contract): Consolidated pay of Rs. 1,22,000 per month with annual increment @ 3% (no other allowances for contract post)
• For regular posts — DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Central Government rules.

Application Fee

• General / OBC / EWS: Rs. 500 per post (non-refundable)
• SC / ST / Women / PH (PwBD): No fee
• Payment Mode: Demand Draft drawn on any Nationalised Bank in favour of Director, NIEPID, Secunderabad
• Mention your name and the post applied for on the back of the DD.
• Applications not accompanied by the required DD (wherever applicable) will be rejected.

Selection Process

Selection stages vary by post group:

1. Group 'A' Posts (Deputy Director): Selection as per NIEPID / GOI norms.
2. Group 'B' & 'C' Posts (Rehabilitation Officer, Accounts Officer, Driver, Catering Assistant): Merit-based shortlisting by a duly constituted Screening Committee, followed by written test/interview as applicable. No interim correspondence will be entertained.
3. Document Verification: Selected candidates must submit self-attested copies of all certificates at the time of joining.

3. Submit a separate application form and separate DD of Rs. 500 for each post and category if you are applying for more than one post.
