National Institute of Design (NID) Assam Senior Assistant Recruitment 2026

The National Institute of Design (NID), Assam is an Institution of National Importance established by an Act of Parliament under DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The Institute has released Recruitment Notice No. NIDJ/2026-27/Admin./Rectt./105/137 dated 25.05.2026 for the post of Senior Assistant (Finance & Accounts) on a long-term basis as per the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. This is a single OBC reserved post. Preference will be given to Persons with Disabilities (PWD) with minimum 40% disability where suitable candidates are available.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification

• You must have a Bachelor's degree in Commerce or equivalent from a recognised University or Institute.
• You must have proficiency in computers and the use of utilities, software, etc.

Minimum Experience

• Relevant post-qualification experience in Finance & Accounts related matters in a Government or Educational Institution.

Desirable

• Three years' experience in Pay Level 5 (Rs. 29,200-92,300), OR
• Four years' experience in Pay Level 4 (Rs. 25,500-81,100), OR
• Five years' experience in Pay Level 3 (Rs. 21,700-69,100), OR
• Six years' experience in Pay Level 2 (Rs. 19,900-63,200)
• Experience must be in Finance & Accounts related matters.

The post is reserved for OBC candidates. Women candidates are encouraged to apply.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years, as on the last date of application (26 June 2026).
• Age relaxation applies for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD/Ex-Servicemen as per Central Government rules.
• PwD candidates with minimum 40% disability can apply with the required certificate.

Salary

• Pay Level 6: Rs. 35,400 - Rs. 1,12,400 per month (7th CPC Pay Matrix).
• Gross monthly salary: approximately Rs. 74,000 per month.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Central Government rules.

Selection Process

The Institute may conduct a multiple-stage selection process:

1. Shortlisting: Based on essential and desirable qualifications, suitability, and relevant experience.
2. Written Test: The Institute reserves the right to conduct a written test.
3. Trade Test: May be conducted with proportionate weightage along with the written test.
4. Document Verification: Original certificates, experience proofs, and other documents will be verified.

The Institute may initially offer appointment on contract basis, with regularisation based on performance.

• Handle finance and accounts work for the Institute including bills, vouchers, and budget records

• Manage payment processing, vendor settlements, and reconciliation of accounts
• Prepare financial statements, monthly reports, and Institute budget documents
• Coordinate with banks, treasury, and external auditors for financial matters
