CAQM Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) is filling eleven different posts at its office in Jawahar Vyapar Bhawan, New Delhi. CAQM is the statutory body set up under the CAQM Act, 2021 to tackle air pollution in Delhi-NCR and the neighbouring states, so its staff work on one of the most closely watched environmental issues in the country.

The drive covers legal, secretarial, accounts, administrative and Official Language posts, and every one is filled on deputation (some with a later chance of absorption). That means it is only for serving officers of the Central or State Governments, Union Territories, PSUs and, for some posts, autonomous bodies, universities or recognised research institutions. The Legal Adviser post can also be filled on a short-term contract.

Posts and Disciplines

• Legal Adviser and Deputy Legal Adviser: the Commission's senior legal posts; experience of legal work in pollution control or environment protection is desirable.
• Senior Principal Private Secretary, Principal Private Secretary, Private Secretary and Personal Assistant: stenographic posts that need 80 words per minute shorthand in English or Hindi and comfort with MS Word, Excel or PowerPoint.
• Senior Accounts Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer: finance and accounts posts; a CA or CMA qualification is desirable for the Assistant Accounts Officer post.
• Section Officer and Assistant Section Officer: the administrative desk posts, needing a degree and, for the ASO, computer knowledge.
• Junior Translator (OL): the Official Language post, needing a Master's degree in Hindi or English with the other language at graduation.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Deputation period: ordinarily up to five years for the Legal Adviser, four years for the Senior PPS, Deputy Legal Adviser and PPS, and three years for the other posts, counting any immediately preceding ex-cadre deputation.
• Absorption: everyone joins on deputation first. Absorption is not a right; CAQM decides it on need after at least one year of satisfactory service.
• Departmental candidates: for several posts, departmental candidates in the direct line of promotion are not eligible for deputation.
• Pay rules: pay, allowances and leave follow DoPT OM No. 6/8/2009-Estt.(Pay II) dated 17 June 2010, as amended.
• No withdrawal: once you apply, you cannot withdraw your candidature.
• Posts may change: the Commission can increase or reduce the number of posts, or withdraw them, without giving reasons.
