National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) is an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Its Chennai Campus has issued advertisement number NFSU/CHENNAI/2026/103 for contractual faculty engagement. The interviews are scheduled on 1 and 2 July 2026, so applicants should keep documents and travel plans ready after submitting the form.

The appointment is for 11 months or until a regular appointment is made, whichever is earlier. NFSU may also offer a lower pay level if a suitable Ph.D. candidate is not available in a required discipline. Who Can Apply?

School of Forensic Science

• Ph.D. route: You need a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree, with at least 60% marks or equivalent.
• Master's route: A first class master's degree in Forensic Science, Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Human Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or another relevant discipline may be considered for lower pay options.
• Desirable: Experience in Forensic Science or a relevant field and one SCI journal publication are preferred.

School of Cyber Security and Digital Forensics

• Ph.D. route: You need a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree, with at least 60% marks or equivalent.
• Relevant degrees: M.Sc., MCA, M.E., or M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Security, Cyber Security, Digital Forensics, Cyber Forensics, Network Technology, IT, Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, IoT Security, or a relevant discipline.
• Desirable: Experience in Cyber Security or a relevant field and one SCI journal publication are preferred.

Lower Pay / Lecturer Option

• Assistant Professor lower pay: A relevant master's degree with first class or 60% and NET may be considered if suitable Ph.D. candidates are not found.
• Lecturer option: A relevant master's degree with first class or 60% may be considered for Lecturer pay where NET is not conducted or where the university offers a lower level.

Salary

• Assistant Professor with Ph.D.: Rs. 90,000 per month consolidated.
• Assistant Professor lower pay: Rs. 75,000 per month consolidated.
• Lecturer option: Rs. 68,000 per month consolidated.
• Note: NFSU can offer a lower level depending on qualification, suitability, and availability of candidates.

Application Fee

• General / OBC / EWS: Rs. 500 per candidate per domain or specialization.
• SC / ST / PwD: Rs. 250 per candidate per domain or specialization.

• Multiple domains: If you apply for more than one domain, the fee is multiplied accordingly.

Selection Process

NFSU Chennai will use document scrutiny and physical interview for this contractual faculty engagement. The notice also says the university may conduct a screening test if the number of applications is large.

2. Eligibility Scrutiny: NFSU will check qualification, domain suitability, fee payment, and uploaded details.
3. Physical Interview: Cyber Security and Digital Forensics interviews are on 01 July 2026, and Forensic Science interviews are on 02 July 2026.
4. Document Verification: You must carry original certificates and two sets of self-attested photocopies for verification.

No regular written exam pattern is published. If NFSU decides to hold a screening test because applications are high, candidates should follow the later instructions issued by the campus.
