The National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) is a research centre of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), an autonomous institute under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India, and a Deemed University. Under Advertisement No. 7/2026 dated 15 June 2026, NCBS invites online applications for one permanent post of Accounts Officer 'C' (Post Code: AC01). This vacancy is reserved for the OBC category — candidates belonging to SC, ST, UR and EWS categories should not apply. Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification and Experience:

• Education: Post Graduate in Commerce with at least 55% marks (with Advanced Accountancy / Auditing / Taxation as one of the subjects), OR a B.Com with 60% marks along with Inter-CA or Inter-CMA.
• Computer Skills: You must be proficient in using personal computers and common applications.
• Experience: 6 years of experience in Level 7 and/or Level 8, OR 5 years of experience in Level 6/7/8 if you also hold a Diploma in Finance and Accounts.

Desirable: Knowledge of Government of India finance and procurement rules, PFMS, EAT modules, Treasury Single Account, GST and Income Tax compliance, FCRA and FEMA, handling of CAG and other audits, and finalisation of Utilization Certificates. Experience in a similar academic or research institution is preferred.

Age Limit

• Your age should be a maximum of 43 years as on 1 January 2026 — this already includes the OBC age relaxation.

Salary

• You will get a Basic Pay of Rs. 56,100 per month under Level 10 (stage-1) of the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix.
• You will also get Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) and other allowances as per Central Government norms.
