The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has extended the online application deadline for the Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026 (949 vacancies). For most subject groups (Group A, B, and C), candidates can now apply from May 10, 2026 to June 9, 2026. For subjects including Sanskrit, Geography, Psychology, Law, Geology, and Yogic Science, the application window is May 25, 2026 to June 26, 2026. The extension was granted to allow candidates awaiting the State Eligibility Test (SET) results to apply. The total vacancy count remains 949 posts across various subjects. Candidates must apply online through the official MPPSC website at mppsc.mp.gov.in.

Responsibilities

Deliver lectures and conduct seminars for undergraduate and postgraduate students in government colleges across Madhya Pradesh
Prepare course material, question papers, and evaluate student assessments as per university guidelines
Undertake academic research and publish scholarly papers in recognized journals
Guide and mentor students in their academic and career development
Participate in university administrative duties, examination work, and academic committees
Contribute to curriculum development and syllabus revision as required by the Higher Education Department

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Master's Degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade from a recognized university, along with NET (UGC/CSIR/ICAR) or SET/SLET qualification. PhD holders are exempted from NET/SET/SLET requirement.

Preferred Qualification

PhD in the relevant subject is preferred and provides exemption from NET/SET requirement

Age Limit

21 - 40 years

Age Relaxation:

SC/ST (MP domicile): 5 years
OBC (MP domicile): 5 years
Women (MP domicile): 5 years
PwD: 10 years
Guest Scholars: 10 years

Interview (100 Marks)

Candidates who qualify the written exam are called for a personal interview. The final merit list is prepared based on combined scores from the written exam and interview, with a maximum total of 900 marks.
