Key Highlights

  • Total 949 vacancies spread across Arts, Commerce, Social Sciences, and Science streams
  • This is an Academic Level 10 position with a starting salary of Rs. 57,700 per month, going up to Rs. 1,82,400
  • Candidates holding a PhD degree are exempted from the NET/SET/SLET requirement as per UGC regulations
  • Candidates from reserved categories of Madhya Pradesh domicile receive age relaxation as per state government norms
  • The exam will be conducted in offline (pen-and-paper) mode with objective-type questions

Selection Process

Your journey to becoming an Assistant Professor involves two clear stages. First, you will appear for a written examination consisting of two papers -- Paper 1 on General Knowledge (200 marks, 1 hour) and Paper 2 on your chosen subject (600 marks, 3 hours). Together, both papers carry 800 marks with each question worth 4 marks. Candidates who clear the written exam will then face a personal interview worth 100 marks, bringing the total evaluation to 900 marks.

Preparation Tips

  1. Focus heavily on Paper 2 since it carries 600 marks -- three times the weightage of Paper 1. Deep mastery of your subject is non-negotiable
  2. Cover MP-specific content for Paper 1 as it includes questions on Madhya Pradesh's cultural heritage, geography, and current affairs alongside general topics
  3. Practice time management because Paper 1 gives you just over a minute per question (50 questions in 60 minutes), so speed and accuracy both matter
  4. Review previous year papers available on the MPPSC website to understand the difficulty level and question patterns

  • Domicile certificate of Madhya Pradesh, if claiming state reservation benefits
  • Recent passport-size photograph and signature in the prescribed format for the online application
  • Valid ID proof such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, or voter ID

Responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures and conduct seminars for undergraduate and postgraduate students in government colleges across Madhya Pradesh
  • Prepare course material, question papers, and evaluate student assessments as per university guidelines
