Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has released a corrigendum increasing the vacancies for Assistant District Public Prosecution Officer (ADPO) posts under the Home Department from 17 to 107 (Advt. No. 03/2026, originally dated 10 March 2026, corrigendum dated 6 July 2026). This is a Gazetted Class-II, permanent post where you will prosecute criminal cases on behalf of the state government before Judicial Magistrate courts at the district and tehsil level. Selected candidates will serve a two-year probation period before their appointment is confirmed. The application window has been reopened from 10 July to 24 July 2026 along with the increased vacancies, so even candidates who missed the original deadline can now apply. Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: You need a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or equivalent from any government-recognized university.
- Preferred Qualification: Candidates who have completed 2 years of law practice, or who hold a higher law qualification, get preference. If candidates score equally in the final selection, this preference is used as a tie-breaker.
- Domicile: Reserved category benefits (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/women/PwBD/ex-servicemen) are available only to original residents of Madhya Pradesh.
- Employment Registration: Madhya Pradesh domicile candidates need a live employment registration certificate from a Madhya Pradesh employment office, to be submitted at the time of interview.
Age Limit
- You should be between 21 and 40 years old as on 1 January 2027 (calculated based on your Class 10 mark sheet date of birth).
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC, PwBD, government employees, and women (Madhya Pradesh domicile) get up to 5 years relaxation.
- Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxed by the length of military service, up to a maximum of 3 years.
- No candidate above 45 years is eligible, even after applying all relaxations combined.
Salary
- Selected candidates will get a salary in the pay scale of Rs. 9,300 to Rs. 34,800 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 4,200 per month.
- You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Madhya Pradesh government rules.

- Reserved category (SC / ST / OBC / EWS): Rs. 250

- Late fee applies for applying after 24 July 2026 — Rs. 3,000 (25-31 July 2026) or Rs. 25,000 (1 August-23 September 2026). A correction fee of Rs. 50 per session applies if you need to fix errors in a late application.
Selection Process
The selection will be done in the following stages:
- Written Exam (OMR Based): Objective-type questions with negative marking, conducted at exam centres in Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Gwalior. (If fewer than 500 candidates apply, MPPSC may select candidates directly through interview instead of a written exam.)
- Interview: Candidates are shortlisted at up to 3 times the number of vacancies per category, based on written exam marks. The interview is out of 100 marks, with a minimum qualifying score of 41 for Unreserved candidates and 31 for Reserved/PwBD candidates.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must submit original documents at the time of interview.
Final Merit: Based on combined marks from the written exam and interview. The Commission's decision on final selection is binding, and there is no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of answer sheets.

Responsibilities
- Prosecute criminal cases on behalf of the state government in Judicial Magistrate courts
- Represent the state in district and tehsil-level criminal proceedings
- Review police case files and prepare legal arguments before hearings
- Examine and cross-examine witnesses during trial proceedings
- Coordinate with police and investigating officers on case progress
- Maintain records of prosecution cases and court outcomes
- Advise investigating officers on legal and evidentiary matters
