RHC Legal Researcher Recruitment 2026: Overview

Rajasthan High Court (RHC) is engaging a Legal Researcher to work with Hon’ble Mr. Justice Arun Monga under its scheme for legal researchers. This is a contractual attachment to the judge, with judicial and administrative research forming the setting for your work. The attachment does not create a right to regular appointment.

Abridged advertisement dated 08.10.2026 (application code LRJDRHJBB202600101): one post, contractual engagement for one year under the Scheme for engaging Legal Researcher; the maximum age as on 1 January 2026 is 33 years. The online form is open from 1:00 pm on 9 October 2026 to 5:00 pm on 23 October 2026 and the fee can be paid until 5:00 pm on 24 October 2026.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial term: The engagement runs for one year. Under the amended scheme, an extension may cover a further four years or end at the judge’s retirement, whichever comes first; it depends on satisfactory performance.
• Work schedule: This is a full-time assignment. You may need to attend the judge’s residential office and work on holidays, with the schedule adjusted in consultation with the judge.
• Other work: You cannot take another assignment or practise as an advocate during the engagement. If already enrolled, you must inform the Bar Council of Rajasthan for suspension of enrolment.
• Confidentiality: Information you learn through the attachment remains confidential even after you leave, except where disclosure is legally needed for official duties.
• Later practice: You cannot practise before the judge you assisted for three years after the attachment. You must never handle a case on which you worked as a Legal Researcher.
• Leaving early: Give three months’ notice or notice covering the remaining assignment, whichever is shorter. The court may end the attachment early under the scheme’s provisions.
• Leave and attendance: You earn one casual leave after completing each calendar month. Seek permission before taking leave or leaving headquarters; inform the judge’s Private Secretary promptly in an emergency.
• Completion certificate: The Registrar General issues a certificate after successful completion. The scheme excludes this certificate where the assignment ends through early discharge or voluntary departure.
• Joining terms: The offer format calls for joining within seven days of receiving the offer and accepting the scheme’s undertakings. Court-hour dress and identity-card rules also apply.

The online portal needs a user account. You may apply from your own computer or through an e-mitra kiosk, where separate service charges apply. Keep your application printout for your own records; the notice does not direct you to post it to the court.
