The Madhya Pradesh Employee Selection Board (MPESB), formerly Vyapam, has released the official rulebook for 1200 Hospital Assistant (Class IV / Group D) regular posts under the Department of Public Health and Medical Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh. Live registration in an MP Employment Exchange is mandatory on the date of application. The recruitment is open to MP domiciles, with reservation for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, women, ex-servicemen and PwD candidates.

• Unreserved (UR): 324 posts
• Scheduled Caste (SC): 192 posts
• Scheduled Tribe (ST): 240 posts
• Other Backward Classes (OBC): 324 posts (includes provisional reservation)
• Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 120 posts

Horizontal Reservation: 35% reservation for women candidates, 20% for ex-servicemen, 6% for PwD (72 posts split across VH, EH, LD and MD).

Total: 1200 posts. Pay Scale: Rs. 15,500-49,000 (Level 1).

Who Can Apply?

• Educational Qualification: You must have passed High School / Class 10 from a recognised board.
• Employment Exchange: Live registration in an MP Employment Exchange is mandatory on the date of application.
• Domicile: Reservation, age relaxation and women-quota benefits are available only to permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh. Candidates from outside MP can apply only against unreserved (UR/Open) posts.
• You must be a citizen of India (or Nepal, with required certificate).

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age (UR/EWS, non-MP): 40 years
• Maximum age (MP domicile SC/ST/OBC, women, government employees, PwD): 45 years
• Age is calculated as on 1 January 2026.
• Maximum age cap: 45 years in all cases (except contract employees and Rule 13 categories).

Salary

• Pay scale: Rs. 15,500 - Rs. 49,000 per month (Pay Level 1, MP State Pay Matrix)
• During probation: 70% of basic in 1st year, 80% in 2nd year, 90% in 3rd year. Full pay starts after successful completion of probation.
• Plus DA, HRA and other allowances as per Madhya Pradesh Government rules

Application Fee

• Unreserved candidates: Rs. 500/-
• MP domicile SC / ST / OBC / EWS / PwD candidates: Rs. 250/-
• MP Online portal charge: Rs. 60/- (kiosk) or Rs. 20/- (registered Citizen User) per application
• Candidates from outside MP get no fee concession.

Selection Process

1. Online Computer-Based Test (CBT): Single-stage objective exam of 100 MCQs for 100 marks in 2 hours. Subjects covered: General Hindi, English, Mathematics, Science and Social Science.
2. Document Verification: Successful candidates from the merit list are called for verification of educational and category certificates by the appointing department.
3. Final Appointment: Department issues the appointment order after verification.

Negative marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer. Qualifying marks: 50% for UR, 40% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/EWS. The exam is conducted in Hindi and English using Normalised Equi-Percentile (NEP) scaling.

• Follow biomedical waste disposal rules and infection control guidelines
• Support staff during emergencies, casualty duty and special camps
• Work in shifts including night duty as assigned by the hospital administration
