The Engineering Department, Union Territory, Chandigarh is hiring 1 Superintending Engineer (Civil) on deputation basis for the B&R Wing. Chandigarh Administration Superintending Engineer (Civil) Deputation 2026 - 1 Post

The Chief Engineer's Office, Engineering Department, Union Territory of Chandigarh has issued a Vacancy Circular to fill one post of Superintending Engineer (Civil) in the Buildings & Roads (B&R) Wing on deputation basis. This is strictly a deputation recruitment open only to serving officers of Central Government, State Governments, Union Territory Administration, PSUs, Universities, autonomous bodies or statutory organizations. The initial period of deputation is one year, extendable up to three years.

Who Can Apply?

Eligibility (Deputation including Short Term Contract)

You must be a serving officer from Central Government / State Government / UT Administration / PSU / University / Autonomous Body / Statutory Organization, and meet ONE of these service conditions:

• Holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or department, OR
• 5 years of service rendered after appointment on regular basis in the post of Executive Engineer (Civil) in PB-3 (Rs. 15,600-39,100) with Grade Pay of Rs. 7,600 or equivalent.

Educational Qualification

• Essential: Bachelor of Engineering in Civil OR AMIE degree in the same discipline
• Desirable: Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university or institute

Experience

• 12 years of experience in the relevant field of Engineering in the Government Sector

Note: Departmental officers in the feeder category who are in direct line of promotion are not eligible. Deputationists are not eligible for promotion appointment.

Age Limit

• The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation (including short term contract) is 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
• Period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately before this appointment shall ordinarily not exceed 5 years.

Salary

• Pay Scale: Rs. 37,400-67,000 + Grade Pay Rs. 8,700 (Pre-revised PB-4)
• Now revised to Level-13 of the 7th CPC: Rs. 1,23,100 - Rs. 2,15,900 per month
• Group: A
• Plus DA, HRA and other allowances as per Central Government rules applicable to deputationists

Selection Process

Selection is by deputation - no written exam is conducted:

1. Screening of Applications: The eligibility of applicants is checked against the notified Recruitment Rules dated 27.11.2017.
2. Document Verification: ACRs/APARs of the last 5 years, vigilance clearance, integrity certificate, and cadre clearance are verified.
3. Selection Committee Review: The final selection is made by the competent authority based on suitability and seniority.

2. Fill in the Bio-Data / Curriculum Vitae Proforma with all required details.
3. Attach photocopies of ACRs/APARs for the last 5 years, duly attested by an officer not below the rank of Under Secretary.
4. Get the application certified by your employer/cadre controlling authority confirming vigilance clearance and integrity.
