The Civil Surgeon office of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel District Hospital, Satna has released a notification (Advt. No. 2164) for 1 Counsellor post under the Addiction Treatment Facility (ATF) scheme. This scheme is funded by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, and coordinated by the National Drug Dependence Treatment Centre, AIIMS New Delhi. The post is purely on a contract basis and will run up to 31 March 2027 (extendable based on performance and project funds). Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must be a graduate in Psychology, Social Work, or Sociology. A Master's degree in these subjects and procedures is preferred.
• Domicile: The reduced fee and age relaxation apply to original residents (domicile) of Madhya Pradesh.
• Your qualification must be completed before the date the advertisement was issued.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 40 years (as on 1 January 2026).
• Age Relaxation: SC, ST, OBC, women, PwD, and government/corporation/board employees of Madhya Pradesh get 5 years relaxation in the upper age limit as per state rules.
• Your date of birth must match the one shown on your 10th class marksheet.

Salary

• You will get a fixed salary of Rs. 20,000 per month.
• The pay is fully consolidated — no other allowances like PF, pension, gratuity, or medical benefits are payable.
• You will get 1 day of paid leave for every full month of service.

• General (UR) and candidates from other states: Rs. 500

Selection Process

The selection will be done in these stages:

1. Written Exam: 50 questions for 50 marks in 1 hour. Each question carries 1 mark and there is no negative marking. You must score at least 40% to qualify.
2. Merit List: A merit list is prepared based on your written exam marks.
3. Document Verification: Candidates equal to 5 times the number of posts are called for document checking in order of merit.
4. Interview: Final selection is based on merit and interview. You must bring an NOC if you are a government employee.

The written exam syllabus covers Fundamentals of Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Psychopathology and Mental Health, Counseling and Health Psychology, Counseling Techniques and Assessment, and Community Mental Health.
