Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MAHATRANSCO/MSETCL), a wholly owned company of the Maharashtra Government and the largest state transmission utility in the country, has released Employment Advertisement No. 02/2026 for 4 senior engineering posts. These are high-salary, experienced-level positions in the power transmission sector. Engineers with strong experience in EHV/HVDC substations, transmission lines and load management should apply.

Who Can Apply?

Chief Engineer (Transmission)

• Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology.
• Experience: Total 15 years in the Power Sector, of which at least 5 years in Power Transmission in Selection Posts (Executive Engineer & above), including 1 year as Superintending Engineer; OR 3 years as Superintending Engineer.

Superintending Engineer (Transmission)

• Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology.
• Experience: Total 12 years in the Power Sector, of which at least 5 years in Power Transmission as Executive Engineer & Additional Executive Engineer; OR 2 years as Executive Engineer.

Power Transmission experience means working on EHV/HVDC substations and lines (66 kV and above). Experience is counted from after you got the essential qualification, and is calculated as on 12 June 2026.

Age Limit

• Open category (outsiders): Maximum 50 years.
• Reserved category (outsiders): Maximum 55 years.
• Departmental candidates (MSETCL employees): Maximum 57 years.
• Age is calculated as on 12 June 2026 (the last date of application).

Salary

• Chief Engineer (Transmission): Pay scale Rs. 1,40,655-5,980-2,72,215. Approximate monthly gross emoluments Rs. 3,08,261.
• Superintending Engineer (Transmission): Pay scale Rs. 1,09,935-4,740-1,33,635-5,245-2,43,780. Approximate monthly gross emoluments Rs. 2,40,123.
• You also get DA, HRA, Medical Benefits, CPF, Gratuity, company/hired vehicle and telephone reimbursement as per company rules. Office quarters may be provided in lieu of HRA if available.

Selection Process

Selection is through a Competency Mapping Test, normally with the following tools:

5. Personal Interview

The final select list is based on your overall performance in all five tools. Call letters are sent by email to shortlisted candidates.
