The Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEFCC) is hiring 2 Consultant B posts on a contract basis in New Delhi. One post is for Consultant B (Technical) and the other for Consultant B (Finance). If you have a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Finance or Accounts (or a Bachelor's in Environmental Engineering/Technology) with at least 5 years of experience, you can apply. The salary is a fixed Rs. 80,000 per month, and the last date to apply is 17 July 2026.

Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEFCC) Consultant B Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

The Control of Pollution (CP) Division of MoEFCC has released a notification to engage 2 Consultants B on a one-year contract. The engagement can be extended based on your performance review at the end of each year. One Consultant will handle technical work and the other will handle finance work. There is no written exam — selection is based on an interview. This is a good chance for experienced environment and finance professionals to work directly with a central government ministry in New Delhi. Please note that the selected person will have no claim for regularisation of service in the Ministry.

You can apply for either post by ticking the option in the application form. The job is based at Indira Paryavaran Bhawan, Jor Bagh Road, New Delhi, but the Government may send you anywhere for official duty.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Finance or Accounts, OR
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Technology
• You must have good knowledge of MS Office

Experience

• You need more than 5 years of experience in the field of environmental pollution management or control

Preferred (Desirable)

• Good knowledge of environmental laws
• Familiarity with how government offices work
• Experience in handling financial matters

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 45 years (as on the last date to apply)

Salary and Benefits

• You will get a fixed monthly consolidated pay of Rs. 80,000 per month
• The pay may be increased every year based on your performance review, if your contract is extended
• You will get 8 days of leave for each completed year of consultancy
• The contract can be ended by either side with one month's notice (or one month's pay in lieu of notice)

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is done through:

1. Shortlisting: Suitable candidates are shortlisted based on their qualification and experience
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview on a date told to them later by email

No TA/DA or accommodation will be given for attending the interview. You must bring your original certificates at the time of the interview. The Ministry will keep the Intellectual Property Right of any data and work you produce during the assignment.

• Help carry out major environmental laws such as the Environment (Protection) Act 1986, the Water Act 1974 and the Air Act 1981, along with their rules
• Assist in the working of the Environmental Protection Fund Cell of the Ministry
• Support the Adjudicating Officer in the Ministry on related matters
• Handle technical or financial work depending on the post you are selected for
• Prepare reports, notes and data using MS Office tools
• Keep all collected data and deliverables confidential as per government rules
