Office of the District Programme Officer (ICDS), Meerut — Anganwadi Worker Recruitment 2026 - 180 Posts
The Office of the District Programme Officer (ICDS), Meerut has released a notification to fill 180 vacant Anganwadi Worker posts under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme that runs in every block of the district. Anganwadi centres are the heart of this scheme — they provide supplementary nutrition, pre-school education, immunisation support and health awareness in villages and city wards. Selection is purely merit-based — there is no written exam. A merit list is prepared from your educational marks, so 12th-pass women living in Meerut can get a stable community job right in their own area. Meerut is one of the largest districts in western Uttar Pradesh, and these 180 posts cover both busy city wards and rural blocks, giving women across the district a fair chance to apply close to home.
Vacancy Breakdown
The 180 posts are spread across these projects (highest first):
- Meerut City (Urban): 56 posts

Selection Process (No Written Exam)
There is no exam. Selection works like this:
- Merit List: A merit list is prepared from your educational marks. The minimum qualification counted is Intermediate and the highest counted is Post-Graduation, so your school and college results decide your rank.
- Residence Check: You must be a permanent resident of the gram sabha or ward of the post.
- Document Verification: Your certificates are checked before final selection.
The final decision is taken by the district-level selection committee, and its decision is binding.
