The District Welfare Office, Jogulamba Gadwal is hiring 73 Anganwadi workers (64 Anganwadi Teachers and 9 Anganwadi Helpers) under the ICDS projects of the Women Development & Child Welfare Department, Telangana. The District Welfare Office (Women, Children, Differently-Abled & Senior Citizens Department), Jogulamba Gadwal has released Notification No. 230/A/2017 for 73 Anganwadi vacancies across three ICDS projects — Gadwal, Maldakal and Manopad. Only women candidates can apply, and you must be a local resident of the habitation, Gram Panchayat or ward where the Anganwadi centre is located. Who Can Apply?
Anganwadi Teacher (AWT)
- You must have passed Intermediate (12th Class) from a recognised board.
Anganwadi Helper (AWH)
- Intermediate (12th Class) pass candidates are preferred.
- If no Intermediate-qualified candidates are available, 10th Class (SSC) pass candidates will be considered.
Other Requirements
- Only women candidates can apply.
- Local residence is mandatory. For rural areas you must belong to the same Gram Panchayat; for urban areas you must belong to the same ward as the Anganwadi centre.
- For SC/ST sub-plan posts, only SC/ST candidates of that habitation (rural) or Gram Panchayat can apply.
- You must have a residence certificate from the Tahsildar, and only residence proof from the date of this notification going back one year is accepted.
- You must belong to the category (community) reserved for that particular post.
Age Limit
- You should be between 18 and 35 years old as on 1 July 2026.
Selection Process (No Written Exam)
Selection is based on merit. The steps are:

Responsibilities
- Run daily activities at the assigned Anganwadi centre for children and mothers
- Teach pre-school children basic learning through play and simple activities
- Distribute supplementary nutrition to children, pregnant women and nursing mothers
- Keep proper records of children's growth, health and attendance
- Help conduct health check-ups, immunisation drives and awareness programmes
- Assist the Anganwadi Teacher in cleaning, cooking and caring for children (Helper role)
- Work with the local community to bring children to the Anganwadi centre
