Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) Member (Finance) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Border Management, has invited applications for the post of Member (Finance) in the Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI). The post will fall vacant on 31 October 2026. The selected person will hold office for a term of five years from the date of joining, or until attaining the age of 60 years, whichever is earlier. The last date for receiving applications has been extended from 30 April 2026 to 12 June 2026 through a corrigendum dated 11 May 2026.

Who Can Apply?

For Deputation Basis

• You must be an officer in the service of the Government of India or a State Government.
• Holding a post equivalent to Joint Secretary to the Government of India (Pay Level 14 of the Pay Matrix), OR
• Holding a post of Director to the Government of India or equivalent (Pay Level 13) for at least four years.
• You must have special knowledge and experience in the field of finance and commerce.

For Contract Basis

• Eligibility will be decided by the Search-cum-Selection Committee.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of application.
• This age limit applies to both deputation and contract appointments.

Salary

• The post is at the level of Joint Secretary to the Government of India (Pay Level 14 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix).
• Starting pay: Rs. 1,44,200 per month (entry level of Pay Level 14).
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Central Government rules.

Selection Process

Selection will be done by the Search-cum-Selection Committee:

1. Screening of Applications: Names of willing and eligible officers will be screened along with cadre clearance, vigilance clearance and ACR dossiers for the last five years.
2. Search-cum-Selection Committee Review: The committee will examine experience and credentials in finance and commerce.
3. ACC Approval: Final appointment will be made after approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

The selected candidate must give consent to join within the stipulated period. If you do not join within 30 days, a 15-day notice will be issued to either join or face debarment.

3. Attach certified copies of required documents, ACR/APAR gradings for the last 5 years, cadre clearance, vigilance clearance and details of debarment (if any).
4. The application must be forwarded through the Cadre Controlling Authority (an advance copy can be sent directly).

• Oversee the finance and accounts functions of the Land Ports Authority of India
• Manage budgeting, financial planning and expenditure control for integrated check posts
• Ensure compliance with government financial rules and regulations
• Review and approve major financial proposals for border infrastructure projects
• Coordinate with the Ministry of Finance and external auditors
• Guide internal audit and prevent financial irregularities
• Represent LPAI on matters of finance before parliamentary and ministerial committees
