The posts cover three levels — Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor — across many veterinary and dairy science disciplines. Knowledge of Kannada is mandatory, and there is no written exam — selection is based on a score card and interview.

Total: 96 posts. Kalyana Karnataka Cadre posts are reserved for candidates of the Kalyana Karnataka region only. Local candidates of the Kalyana Karnataka region can apply for both the Local Cadre and the Residual Cadre.
Who Can Apply?
For Professor (Rs. 1,44,200 - 2,18,200):
- Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science / Animal Husbandry / Dairy / Fisheries Science in the concerned discipline.
- Master's degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) in the concerned or allied subject.
- A Ph.D in the concerned subject with 10 research publications in NAAS-rated / UGC-listed journals.
- 10 years of teaching/research/extension experience, including 2 years in the Associate Professor cadre.
For Associate Professor (Rs. 1,31,400 - 2,17,100):
- Bachelor's and Master's degree as above (Master's with 55%, 50% for SC/ST).
- A Ph.D in the concerned / allied subject.
- 8 years of teaching/research/extension experience as Assistant Professor, with 7 publications in NAAS-rated / UGC-listed journals.
For Assistant Professor (Rs. 57,700 - 1,82,400):
- Bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline plus a Master's degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST).
- You must have cleared NET (UGC/ICAR/CSIR/SLET/SET) in the concerned subject, or hold a Ph.D as per UGC 2009/2016 norms for NET exemption.
- Kannada knowledge is mandatory. If you did not study Kannada in S.S.L.C, you must qualify a Kannada test (150 marks, minimum 50%) to be eligible for the interview.
- Veterinary Science candidates must hold a valid registration with the Karnataka Veterinary Council / Veterinary Council of India.
Age Limit
- An age limit applies only to Assistant Professor posts (as on the last date of application).
- General merit: maximum 40 years
- 2A / 2B / 3A / 3B: maximum 43 years
- SC / ST / Cat-I: maximum 45 years
- Age relaxation for in-service candidates and other categories is as per the relevant orders of the Government of Karnataka.
Salary
- Professor: Rs. 1,44,200 - 2,18,200 per month
- Associate Professor: Rs. 1,31,400 - 2,17,100 per month
- Assistant Professor: Rs. 57,700 - 1,82,400 per month
- Pay is as per the ICAR/UGC 2016 pay scale, plus DA, HRA and other allowances as per Karnataka Government rules.
- Selected candidates come under the new pension scheme.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)
There is no written exam. Selection is based on:
- Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on the KVAFSU Prescribed Qualifications, Score Card, and Guidelines for Direct Recruitment of Teachers.
- Academic Score and Interview: Higher qualifications and merit, as defined in the KVAFSU Score Card, are given preference. Mere eligibility does not guarantee an interview call.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must submit 3 sets of hard copies of the application along with self-attested certificates, marksheets, and proof of research publications during the physical verification of original documents.

Minimum Qualification
Master's degree (M.V.Sc / M.Sc) with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) in the relevant Veterinary, Animal, Dairy or Fisheries Science discipline; NET/Ph.D as per post level
Preferred Qualification
Ph.D in the concerned subject with research publications in NAAS-rated / UGC-listed journals
Required Skills
