The recruitment is for Project Engineer, Technician, Yard Operations Supervisor, and Shunting Operator roles in the Mechanical / Project Department. Who Can Apply?

For Project Engineer Posts

• Project Engineer / M&P: You need a full-time degree or diploma in Mechanical, Production & Industrial, Automobile, Manufacturing, Mechatronic, Material Sciences, or Metallurgical Engineering from an AICTE-recognised university or institute.
• Project Engineer / Electrical Maintenance: You need a full-time degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a closely related sub-stream from an AICTE-recognised university or institute.
• Experience: You need at least 1 year post-qualification experience. KRCL gives preference to experience in machinery and plant repair, power distribution, power supply, or electrical installation maintenance.

For Technician Posts

• Technician / Mechanical: You need an ITI certificate from a recognised ITI, technical training institute, or government-approved authority in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or a related trade.
• Technician / Electrical: You need an ITI certificate from a recognised ITI, technical training institute, or government-approved authority.
• Experience: You need 1 year post-qualification experience in the relevant industry. Electrical candidates should have experience in electrical system repair or maintenance.

For Yard and Shunting Posts

• Yard Operations Supervisor: You need a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised institute or university.
• Shunting Operator: You need to have passed 10th Class.
• Experience: You need 1 year post-qualification experience in yard operations or shunting, preferably in railway siding, power plant, cement industry, port, or any industry with railway operations.

Age Limit

• Project Engineer / M&P, Project Engineer / Electrical Maintenance, and Yard Operations Supervisor: up to 55 years as on 01 May 2026.
• Technician / Mechanical, Technician / Electrical, and Shunting Operator: up to 50 years as on 01 May 2026.
• OBC (NCL) relaxation: 3 years, if you apply against the respective reserved category post.
• SC / ST relaxation: 5 years, if you apply against the respective reserved category post.
• Ex-servicemen: age relaxation is discretionary as per KRCL decision.

Salary

• Project Engineer / M&P, Project Engineer / Electrical Maintenance, and Yard Operations Supervisor: consolidated pay of Rs. 50,060 to Rs. 57,140 per month, depending on city class.
• Technician / Mechanical and Technician / Electrical: consolidated pay of Rs. 27,100 to Rs. 30,900 per month, depending on city class.
• Shunting Operator: consolidated pay of Rs. 25,700 to Rs. 29,300 per month, depending on city class.
• Included components: Basic, DA, HRA, Conveyance, and Mobile Allowance are included in the consolidated amount.
• Annual increase: pay may increase by 4% after every completed year, subject to KRCL requirement and discretion.
• Other facilities: TA for official travel, complimentary railway pass for duty travel, road travel reimbursement, rest house or hotel reimbursement, and leave benefits are available as per KRCL policy.

Selection Process

The selection will be done through walk-in registration, screening, interview, document verification, and medical fitness check.

1. Walk-in Registration: Reach the venue between 09:00 hrs and 12:00 hrs on the correct walk-in date for your post.
2. Preliminary Screening: KRCL will check the application form, qualification, experience, category certificate, and other documents.
3. GD / Written Test, if required: KRCL may introduce a group discussion, written test, or another elimination round if many candidates attend.
4. Personal Interview: Candidates who pass screening will face the nominated KRCL committee.
5. Document Verification and Medical Examination: Selected candidates must produce originals and pass the prescribed medical examination before contract appointment.
