Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), a Government of India undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, has released Vacancy Notice No. DE/04/2026 dated 21 May 2026 to fill one post of Deputy Chief Materials Manager on deputation. This is a deputation opening only — direct candidates from open market are not eligible. The normal term of deputation is 3 years, extendable up to 5 years. KRCL has been granted exemption from the rule of immediate absorption up to 31 December 2026.

Who Can Apply?

You can apply only if you are a serving Railway officer who meets any one of these conditions:

• You have minimum service as an IRSS (Indian Railway Stores Service) cadre officer of Indian Railway with at least five years of Group A service.
• OR you have a minimum of 12 years of experience in Group B in the Stores Department of Indian Railway.
• OR you are an officer of Railway in the Stores wing with a minimum of 6 years experience working in IDA pay scale in E-4 grade.

Important Conditions

• Officers working in Zonal Railways / Production Units (PUs) must have their applications forwarded by the Railway Board as per Railway Board Letter No. 2018/E(O)II/41/1 dated 08-02-2023.
• Applications must reach the Railway Board at least 7 days before the closing date.
• KRCL will consider only those applications which are duly forwarded by the Railway Board.

Age Limit

• You should be below 55 years as on the date of the notification (21 May 2026).

Salary

• Pay Scale: 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-12 (Rs. 78,800 - 2,09,200 per month)
• You will draw pay and allowances as per DoPT instructions, which would have been admissible to you from time to time on the Railways.
• Plus deputation (duty) allowance over and above the basic pay.
• Retention of Railway accommodation during deputation tenure in KRCL is allowed as per Railway Board policy, as amended from time to time.

Selection Process

Selection is based on screening of applications — there is no written exam:

1. Forwarding of Application by Railway Board: Applications must be routed through the Railway Board for officers serving in Zonal Railways / Production Units.
2. Shortlisting: Eligible and suitable candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of eligibility criteria and relevant experience as specified in the vacancy notice.
3. Selection: The selection process is governed by the criteria laid down in Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) letters No. 2017/E(O)II/41/5 dated 25-05-2017 and No. 2018/E(O)II/41/1 dated 07-03-2018.

Job Description: The selected officer must have good knowledge of purchase procedures, latest Railway Board guidelines, vendors and their performance, experience in finalising tender committees at high level, import procedures, and efficient functioning of MMD (Materials Management Department). Thorough knowledge of IREPS (e-tendering and e-auction), GeM and MSME provisions is required.
