Kerala PSC Police Constable Driver Recruitment 2026

Kerala Public Service Commission (Kerala PSC) has issued Category No. 30/2026 for statewide direct recruitment of Police Constable Driver and Woman Police Constable Driver in Kerala Police. The vacancies are marked as anticipated, so Kerala PSC will advise candidates from the ranked list against vacancies reported during the list period. This is a regular Kerala Government Service police driver post with physical fitness, driving proficiency and document checks as important parts of selection.

Who Can Apply?

Education and Driving Licence

• Education: You must have passed Higher Secondary Education Examination (Plus Two) or an equivalent qualification.
• Driving Licence: You need a current valid licence for motorcycle with gear, light motor vehicle, heavy passenger vehicle and heavy goods vehicle.
• Driver Badge: You must also have a valid driver badge.
• Driving Skill: You must prove driving proficiency in the practical test conducted by Kerala PSC.

Important Conditions

• Licence Validity: Your motor driving licence and badge should remain valid at all stages, including last date of application, OMR test, physical test, practical test and one-time verification.
• PwBD: Differently abled candidates are not eligible for this post as per the notice.
• Training: Selected candidates must complete 9 months of pre-service training as decided by the State Police Chief.

Age Limit

• You should be between 20 and 32 years old.
• You must have been born between 2 January 1994 and 1 January 2006, both dates included.
• OBC candidates: Upper age limit is relaxed up to 35 years.
• SC/ST candidates: Upper age limit is relaxed up to 37 years.
• Ex-servicemen: Upper age limit is relaxed up to 45 years.

Salary

• The pay scale is Rs. 31,100 to Rs. 66,800 per month.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other admissible allowances as per Kerala Government rules after appointment.
• The post carries police service conditions, training requirements, probation and bond conditions mentioned in the notification.

Physical Standards

For Male Candidates

• Height: 168 cm minimum; 161 cm for SC/ST male candidates.
• Chest: 81 cm with 5 cm expansion; 76 cm with 5 cm expansion for SC/ST male candidates.
• Eyesight: 6/6 distant vision and 0.5 near vision in each eye without glasses.
• PET: Qualify in any 5 out of 8 events such as 100 metre run, high jump, long jump, shot put, cricket ball throw, rope climbing, pull-ups and 1500 metre run.

For Female Candidates

• Height: 157 cm minimum; 151 cm for SC/ST female candidates.
• Eyesight: 6/6 distant vision and 0.5 near vision in each eye without glasses.
• PET: Qualify in any 5 out of 7 events such as 100 metre run, high jump, long jump, shot put, throw ball, shuttle race and skipping.

Selection Process

Kerala PSC selection for this post will check education, licence, physical fitness and driving ability. The detailed written test syllabus will be announced separately if Kerala PSC schedules an OMR or online test.

2. Physical Measurement: Height, chest where applicable and eyesight standards will be checked before the physical test.
3. Physical Efficiency Test: You must qualify in the required number of physical events for your gender category.
4. Practical Driving Test: You must prove proficiency in driving light motor vehicles, heavy passenger vehicles and heavy goods vehicles.
5. Medical Certificate and Document Check: Original certificates, medical fitness certificate, licence and badge must be produced when Kerala PSC calls you.
