Kerala PSC is inviting online applications for Store Keeper posts at the Kerala State Co-operative Federation for Fisheries Development Limited (MATSYAFED), reserved for candidates from the Fishermen / Dependent of Fishermen community. If you have passed SSLC or its equivalent and belong to this community, you can apply online through the Kerala PSC website. The last date to apply is 2 September 2026. You should be between 18 and 44 years old, and the salary ranges from Rs. 24,400 to Rs. 55,200 per month.

Kerala Public Service Commission (Kerala PSC) Store Keeper (Fishermen Category) Recruitment 2026

Kerala PSC has released Category No. 087/2026 (Part II) to fill anticipated Store Keeper vacancies at MATSYAFED, the apex federation that supports fishing co-operative societies across Kerala, reserved for the Fishermen / Dependent of Fishermen community. MATSYAFED fills its Store Keeper vacancies in a 5:3:2 ratio between the General Category (Part I), the Fishermen/Dependent of Fishermen Category (Part II) and the Society Category (Part III), with the first vacancy always going to the General Category. The selection will be made on a statewide basis, and the resulting ranked list stays valid for a minimum of one year and up to a maximum of three years. If no candidate is advised from the list even after three years, its validity is extended by another year or until at least one candidate is advised, whichever happens first.

If there are not enough eligible candidates on the Fishermen/Dependent of Fishermen ranked list, MATSYAFED will fill those vacancies from the Society Category (Part III) list instead, and such passed-over vacancies will not be given back to this category later — so it helps to apply early if you meet the eligibility criteria. Any further vacancies reported while this ranked list is active will also be filled using the same rotation.

Who Can Apply?

  • Community: You must be a Fisherman, or a Dependent of a Fisherman — this covers the wife, husband, son or daughter of a fisherman, or the father/mother of a deceased fisherman's son or daughter who was wholly dependent on them.
  • Qualification: You need to have passed SSLC or its equivalent.
  • Qualifications recognised by government executive or standing orders as equivalent to SSLC, or higher qualifications that already include SSLC as a base requirement, are also accepted.
  • Proof required: You must get a Dependency Certificate from the Revenue Department, issued on the basis of a certificate from the local Fisheries Officer confirming your fishing background, and upload it with your application. Applications that do not have this certificate uploaded at the time of submission will not be considered.
  • Submitting a bogus Dependency Certificate can lead to disqualification and legal action, so make sure your certificate is genuine.

Age Limit

  • You should be between 18 and 44 years old — only candidates born between 2 January 1982 and 1 January 2008 (both dates included) can apply.
  • Age Relaxation: Candidates belonging to Other Backward Community and SC/ST get the usual age relaxation, but the upper age limit can never exceed 50 years even after relaxation.
  • Employees who worked provisionally through the Employment Exchange in any of 29 listed co-operative institutions can also get age relaxation of up to 5 years, based on their length of provisional service. This concession is available only once and does not apply again for any later appointment.

Salary

  • Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 24,400 to Rs. 55,200 per month.
  • You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per applicable rules.

Application Fee

  • No application fee is required for this post.

Selection Process

Kerala PSC will follow these steps to select candidates:

  1. Written / OMR / Online Test (if conducted): Confirm through your profile that you will appear for the test, then generate and download your admission ticket in the last 15 days before the exam.
  2. Ranking: A separate ranked list will be prepared for the Fishermen/Dependent of Fishermen category, and candidates will be advised in the 5:3:2 rotation along with the General and Society category lists. Note that the usual community-wise reservation rules do not apply to this particular list, since it is already reserved for the Fishermen/Dependent of Fishermen community.
  3. Document Verification: You must produce your original documents proving qualification, age and community status whenever the Commission asks for them.
  4. Probation: Once appointed, you will be on probation for 2 years within a continuous 3-year period from your date of joining.
