Kerala Public Service Commission (Kerala PSC) has released Category No. 076/2026 for 1 Non-Vocational Teacher in Biology (Senior) post in the Kerala Vocational Higher Secondary Education Department. This post is filled By Transfer only — it is open exclusively to qualified Ministerial Staff already working in the Subordinate Service of the VHSE Department, not to the general public. Selected candidates get a ranked list that stays valid for at least one year, and they may also be called against future vacancies reported during this period.

Who Can Apply?

• Eligibility: Only qualified Ministerial Staff working in the Subordinate Service of the Vocational Higher Secondary Education (VHSE) Department can apply — this is a By Transfer post, not open to outside candidates.
• Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Zoology or Botany with at least 50% marks, or B.Sc with Zoology/Botany as a subsidiary subject, from a University in Kerala or an equivalent qualification.
• Teaching Qualification: B.Ed degree in the concerned subject (or a related faculty, as per the order of preference in the notification).
• Eligibility Test: You must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for Non-Vocational Teacher, conducted by the Government of Kerala.
• Exemption: Candidates with NET/JRF, Ph.D, M.Phil or M.Ed in the concerned subject are exempted from the SET requirement. Candidates who cleared the SET for College Lecturer or HSST posts are also exempt.
• Weightage Marks: Non-qualifying Ph.D gets 4 marks, M.Phil gets 2 marks, both together get 5 marks, and Post Doctoral Fellowship gets 2 marks — added to your ranking.

Age Limit

• You must be born on or before 1 January 2003 to apply for this post.
• No upper age limit applies for this By Transfer recruitment.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 55,200 to Rs. 1,15,300 per month.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Kerala Government rules.

Selection Process

The selection is done in the following stages:

1. Ranking: A ranked list is prepared based on your qualifications and any weightage marks for non-qualifying Ph.D/M.Phil/Post Doctoral Fellowship.
2. Confirmation for Test (if applicable): If a written, OMR or online test is conducted as part of this selection, you must confirm your participation through your One Time Registration profile to get your admit card.
3. Document Verification: You need to submit your Service Certificate and other original documents when the Commission asks for them.
