Kerala PSC Computer Assistant Grade II (By-Transfer) 2026

Kerala PSC has issued a By-Transfer notification for Computer Assistant Grade-II posts spread across the Government Secretariat, Kerala PSC and five other departments. This selection is open only to serving Low Paid Employees in the subordinate service of these departments who already hold the required typing and computer qualifications. The pay scale for this post is Rs. 27,900 to Rs. 63,700 per month, and there is no upper age limit for this selection.

Kerala Public Service Commission (Kerala PSC) Computer Assistant Grade-II (By-Transfer) Recruitment 2026

The Kerala Public Service Commission (Kerala PSC) has released Category No. 085/2026 to fill anticipated vacancies of Computer Assistant Grade-II by transfer, across the Government Secretariat, Kerala PSC, Advocate General's Office (Ernakulam), Kerala State Audit Department, Enquiry Commissioner and Special Judges Office, Vigilance Tribunal Office, and Kerala Lok Ayukta. Only one common ranked list will be prepared for all these departments, and candidates will be advised for appointment department by department as vacancies are reported, based on their rank. Once you are advised and appointed, your turn on the list is over — you cannot claim another department from the same list.

If you get appointed and are later relieved for want of vacancy, you can re-register with Kerala PSC and you will be considered again for the next reported vacancy from any of these departments. This notification is meant specifically for candidates who want to move from a low-paid post into the Computer Assistant cadre, so read the eligibility conditions carefully before applying.

Who Can Apply?

This is a By-Transfer selection, so it is not open to candidates outside government service. You can apply only if you meet all the conditions below:

• Eligible category: You must currently be working as a Low Paid Employee included in the subordinate service of one of the departments listed above.
• Qualification: You need SSLC or its equivalent, a Higher Grade Certificate in Typewriting English (KGTE) along with a Computer Word Processing qualification, and a Lower Grade Certificate in Typewriting Malayalam (KGTE), or their government-recognised equivalents.
• If you passed the KGTE Typewriting exam before January 2002, you must also hold a separate certificate in Computer Word Processing or its equivalent at the time of applying.
• Not eligible: Persons appointed through the Employment Exchange or otherwise, who are working on a temporary or provisional basis, cannot apply under this By-Transfer category.
• Service Certificate: You must obtain a service certificate from your Head of Office in the prescribed format and produce it whenever the Commission asks for it.
• Only typewriting certificates issued by the Government are accepted for this post — certificates from private typewriting institutes will not be considered.

Age Limit

• There is no upper age limit for this By-Transfer selection.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 27,900 to Rs. 63,700 per month in the scale of pay fixed for Computer Assistant Grade-II.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Kerala Government rules.

Selection Process

Kerala PSC will prepare a single ranked list covering all six departments based on this notification:

1. Written / OMR / Online Test (if conducted): You must confirm through your One Time Registration profile that you will take the test. Only candidates who confirm can generate and download their admission ticket in the last 15 days before the exam.
2. Document Verification: You must upload documents proving your qualification, service details and age whenever the Commission asks for them. If you fail to upload documents within the given time, you will not be considered for the next stage.

Note: 5% of the vacancies in the Computer Assistant Grade-II cadre across these departments are separately reserved for Low Paid Employees who hold the minimum qualification prescribed for direct recruitment. Candidates who score at least 40% marks in the competitive test are eligible for this separate 5% ranked list.

2. If you are a new user, complete the One Time Registration. If you are already registered, log in using your User ID and password.
3. Open your profile and find the notification for Computer Assistant Grade-II (Cat. No. 085/2026).
4. Click on 'Apply Now' against this notification.
5. Fill in your application details carefully — they cannot be changed after final submission.
6. Keep a printout or soft copy of your submitted application for future reference and any correspondence with the Commission.
