JNCASR Junior Accounts Officer Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post
Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) is an autonomous institution under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, located in Bengaluru, Karnataka. It is also a Deemed-to-be-University. JNCASR has invited applications for 1 Junior Accounts Officer post under the Unreserved (UR) category through Advertisement No. JNC/AO/01/2026. Selection will be through a Computer-Based Online Test conducted in Bengaluru, covering General Aptitude and a Skill Test on Government of India financial rules and ERP proficiency.
Who Can Apply?
- Essential Qualification: You need a Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade from a recognised university.
- Computer Course: You must also have a certified course in Computer Applications.
- Experience: You need a minimum of 6 years of experience in Pay Level 6 (or equivalent), or 2 years in Pay Level 7 (or equivalent), in Account and Budget work at a Central/State Government body, Autonomous organisation, PSU, University, or recognised research institution.
- Citizenship: You must be an Indian citizen.

- Master's degree in Commerce or Financial Management
- PG Diploma in Computer Applications
- Certificate course in ERP/MIS
Age Limit
- Maximum age: 30 years as on 31 March 2026 (last date of receipt of applications).
- Age Relaxation for JNCASR Staff: Regular staff at JNCASR get relaxation as per Government of India norms.
- Temporary/Project/Outsourced Staff: Those working in JNCASR for a continuous period of 3 years or more get one-time age relaxation equal to their service period, but upper age limit cannot exceed 50 years.
Salary
- Selected candidates will get a salary in Pay Level 8 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
- Basic pay starts from Rs. 47,600 per month and can go up to Rs. 1,51,100 per month.
- You will also get DA, HRA, Transport Allowance and other admissible allowances as per Central Government rules.

Selection Process
Selection will be done through a Computer-Based Online Test conducted in Bengaluru. The question paper will be in English only.
- Part A - General Aptitude Test (40 marks): Covers Logical Reasoning (15 questions), Numerical Reasoning (5 questions), Verbal Reasoning (15 questions), and General Awareness (5 questions). Each question carries 1 mark.
- Part B - Skill Test (60 marks): Covers ERP Proficiency (10 questions) and Government of India Rules (50 questions) including FR/SR, GFR, Pension, Income Tax, GST, RTI, and CCS rules. Part B is qualifying in nature and will be evaluated only for candidates who clear Part A.
The top scorer in Part B will be selected. Negative marking of 0.25 marks applies for each wrong answer.

Responsibilities
- Verify accounts payable and receivable transactions and maintain accurate financial records
- Perform bank and ledger reconciliations to resolve discrepancies in financial records and bank statements
- Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and support auditing processes
- Handle day-to-day bookkeeping, data entry, and process expense reports
- Manage payroll processing, NPS contributions, and retirement benefit settlements including leave encashment and gratuity
- Verify invoices and claims before payment, upload payments and utilization certificates on PFMS
- Assist with budget preparation, financial forecasting, and analysis of income and expenses
- Ensure compliance with institute policies, tax laws, and Government of India financial regulations

The Computer-Based Online Test has 100 MCQ questions for 100 marks. You will get 2 hours (120 minutes) to complete it. The test is conducted in Bengaluru only and question papers will be in English only.
