National Institute of Technology Warangal (NIT Warangal), an Institute of National Importance governed by the NITSER Act, 2007, and functioning under the Ministry of Education, has released a notification to engage 3 professionals purely on contract — one each for Visiting Consultant (Legal Adviser), Food Safety Officer, and Student Counsellor. All three engagements are initially for 1 year, extendable further based on a review of your performance and with approval of the Competent Authority. There is no fixed pay scale — instead, each post carries its own consolidated monthly remuneration. Law graduates, food technologists, and psychology or counselling professionals with the right experience should apply.

Vacancy Breakdown

The Legal Adviser role is part-time and visit-based — you need to visit the campus at least 3 days a week, and your pay depends on the number of visits you make. The Food Safety Officer and Student Counsellor posts are full-time, six-day-a-week jobs with standard office hours from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, though you may occasionally need to stay late depending on the workload.

Who Can Apply?

For Visiting Consultant (Legal Adviser):

• You should be an Advocate with at least 3 years standing at the Bar, with expertise in service matters before the Telangana High Court or Central Administrative Tribunal.
• OR a retired Central/State Government officer (not below the rank of Under Secretary) with at least 3 years of experience handling legal matters.

For Food Safety Officer:

• You need a Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology with at least 60% marks (or equivalent CGPA), or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government or FSSAI.
• Experience: At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in food safety, quality control, or related work in industrial catering units, food processing industries, food testing laboratories, or regulatory bodies like FSSAI and state food safety departments.
• A Master's degree in Food Safety/Food Science, or a diploma/certificate in Food Safety/Quality Management, is desirable — along with practical knowledge of HACCP, GMP, GHP, and compliance with the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

For Student Counsellor:

• B.A./B.Sc. (Psychology) with a Diploma in Counselling and 3 years of student counselling experience at an educational institute, OR
• M.A./M.Sc. (Psychology) with 2 years of student counselling experience, OR
• MBBS with a Master's/Diploma in Psychiatric Medicine and 1 year of student counselling experience.
• You should also be comfortable using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint or similar software.

All three engagements are purely temporary. NIT Warangal can end any of them by giving one month's notice (7 days for the Legal Adviser), and none of the posts carry any entitlement to leave.

Salary

• The Visiting Consultant (Legal Adviser) gets a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 50,000 per month for a minimum of 12 visits; pay is calculated pro-rata for fewer visits, plus TA/DA for official tours.
• The Food Safety Officer and Student Counsellor each get a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 60,000 per month.
• No other perks or allowances are admissible for any of the three posts.

Selection Process (Interview-Based)

Selection is mainly through an interview:

1. Screening of Applications: The Institute shortlists candidates based on the eligibility criteria for each post.
2. Written Test (if required): The Institute may conduct a test in addition to the interview, depending on the number of applicants.
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview; the date, time and venue are shared through your registered email.
4. Document Verification: On interview day, bring original certificates, self-attested photocopies of all documents, a government-issued ID, and 2 recent passport-size photographs. No TA/DA is given for the test or interview.

NIT Warangal reserves the right to not fill any of the three posts, relax eligibility criteria for deserving candidates, and reject applications without giving reasons.
