Jharkhand Flying Institute (JFI), a society registered under the Civil Aviation Division, Cabinet Secretariat & Vigilance Department of the Government of Jharkhand, has released notification under Advertisement No. JFI/Employment-25/2025-390 dated 20.05.2026 for 1 Chief Ground Instructor (Aeroplane) post. The post is for the Unreserved (UR) category and the place of duty is JFI Ranchi or JFI Dumka (Dumka Airport). The position is contractual and falls under DGCA CAR Section 7 Series D Part 1 Para 13.8.1 norms.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must be a CPL (Commercial Pilot Licence) holder with the requisite CGI (Chief Ground Instructor) qualification.
• Alternative Qualification: A Ground Instructor or Flight Instructor with at least 2 years of teaching or flight instructional experience with FTO/QFI/QNI from Defence Services or Air Traffic Controller from AAI/Defence Forces.
• Regulatory Compliance: You must fulfil the requirements of DGCA CAR Section 7, Series D, Part 1, Para 13.8.1.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 55 years (as on the date of application).
• Reservation: Reservation rules of the State Government of Jharkhand apply for age relaxation.

Salary

• You will get a lumpsum monthly pay of Rs. 1,50,000 per month.
• This is a fixed contractual emolument — no separate DA, HRA, or grade pay applies under the contract terms.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

1. Shortlisting: The Managing Director, JFI will shortlist eligible candidates based on qualifications and experience.
2. Selection Process: Shortlisted candidates will be called for the selection process (interview/skill assessment) on the scheduled dates.
3. Final Selection: The Managing Director, JFI reserves the right to cancel or postpone this notice wholly or partially at any time.

• Lead and supervise the ground training programme for trainee pilots at JFI Ranchi and JFI Dumka
• Prepare and deliver ground school instruction on aerodynamics, navigation, meteorology, and air regulations
• Set and evaluate question papers and ground school examinations as per DGCA syllabus
• Maintain ground training records, attendance, and progress reports of trainee pilots
• Coordinate with Chief Flight Instructor on training schedules and DGCA-mandated compliance
• Ensure that ground training meets DGCA CAR Section 7 Series D Part 1 standards
• Monitor the quality of training and recommend improvements to the Managing Director, JFI
