About This Job

The Meghalaya Basin Management Agency (MBMA) is inviting applications for empanelment of professionals as Apiculture Experts, Natural Farming Experts, Marketing & Value Addition Experts, and Rural Finance Experts under the Sustainable Land Management (SLM) Project. MBDA SLM Experts Empanelment 2026

The Sustainable Land Management (SLM) Project, run under the Meghalaya Basin Management Agency (MBMA) and the Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA), has issued an Expression of Interest for empanelment of experts in four streams. The empanelled experts will support capacity building, field assessments, value chain development, market linkages, and enterprise promotion activities across Meghalaya. This is a panel-based engagement — experts will be called on a need basis, and the total number of empanelled experts is not fixed in the notification.

Vacancy Breakdown by Expert Role

  • Apiculture Expert — supports beekeeping and honey value chain activities
  • Natural Farming Expert — works on natural and organic farming systems with farmer groups
  • Marketing & Value Addition Expert — helps build market linkages and add value to local produce
  • Rural Finance Expert — designs and supports rural financial inclusion and enterprise finance

Responsibilities

  • Support capacity building activities for farmer groups and rural enterprises under the SLM Project
  • Conduct field assessments and baseline studies in project areas across Meghalaya
  • Develop value chains for local produce, including apiculture, natural farming and forest-based products
  • Build market linkages between rural producers and buyers, traders and value-addition units
  • Promote rural enterprises and help structure financial products for them (Rural Finance role)
  • Prepare technical reports, training material and case studies for the SLM Project
  • Coordinate with MBMA staff, district teams and partner agencies during field assignments

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Relevant professional qualification in Apiculture, Natural Farming, Marketing & Value Addition or Rural Finance

Preferred Qualification

Experience working in rural livelihoods and development projects, preferably in Meghalaya

Required Skills

Capacity building, field assessment, value chain development, market linkages, rural enterprise promotion
