Category-wise (Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist): SEBC 1 (Woman), ST 4 (including 1 Woman backlog). The Stenographer Grade-III and Driver posts are reserved for ST (backlog). The number of vacancies may increase or decrease at the discretion of the District Recruitment Committee.

Who Can Apply?

For Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist, Junior Typist and Stenographer Grade-III

  • You must be a citizen of India.
  • You must have passed at least the +3 examination (graduation) or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university.
  • You must have passed at least a Diploma in Computer Application from a recognised institute.
  • You must be able to read, write and speak Odia and have passed a test in Odia equal to Middle English (M.E.) standard.
  • Junior Typist: typing speed of at least 40 words per minute in English on a computer.
  • Stenographer Grade-III: shorthand speed of 80 words per minute and typing speed of 40 words per minute in English on a computer.

For Driver

  • You must be a citizen of India and able to read, write and speak Odia.
  • You must have passed the 12th (10+2) examination from a recognised board.
  • You need a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving licence, knowledge of motor mechanism, and at least 3 years of car driving experience.

If you are already a government servant, you must apply through proper channel and submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your Head of Office.

Age Limit

  • Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist, Junior Typist, Stenographer Grade-III: You must be above 18 years and below 42 years as on 21 June 2026.
  • Driver: You must be between 21 and 42 years as on 21 June 2026.
  • Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxed for reserved categories (SC/ST/SEBC) as per the Odisha District and Civil Courts' Judicial Staff Services Rules, 2008.

Salary

  • Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist, Junior Typist, Driver: Pay Matrix Level-4, Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month.
  • Stenographer Grade-III: Pay Matrix Level-7, Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month.
  • You will also get Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances as per Odisha State Government rules.

Selection Process

Selection is done in stages, and the stages differ by post:

  1. Written Test: For Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist — English (100), Arithmetic (100), General Knowledge (100). For Junior Typist and Stenographer Grade-III — English (100, qualifying). For Driver — Basic English, Odia, Arithmetic, General Knowledge and Traffic Signs (100 total).
  2. Skill Test: Computer Science Test (Practical) for clerical posts; Type-Writing Test for Junior Typist; Shorthand & Type-Writing Test for Stenographer Grade-III; Trade Test for Driver.
  3. Viva-Voce Test: 45 marks for Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist, 35 marks for Junior Typist and Stenographer Grade-III.
  4. Medical Examination: You must be of sound health and free from any defect that affects your duties.

Only candidates who clear each earlier stage move to the next. Qualifying marks differ for General (50-55%) and SC/ST (40-50%) candidates.

  • Assist judicial officers and senior staff with daily administrative work
  • Drive court vehicles safely and maintain them in good condition (for Driver)
  • Follow court rules, timelines and confidentiality requirements
